I’ve played ark since beta and the quetz was always one of the hardest to acquire almost impossible solo. With griffins came the ease of taming them and now this method, good strategy buddy!

Back before Ark was fully released I was able to tame a Quetzel using an Argy and a scorpion set to aggressive. It was a very long process as I had to whistle him neutral whenever I had to land for stamina, but after what seemed like forever, I got it knocked out. Once I had one, the others were easy to attain. Great video!

Theres another simple way to tame it on scorched earth or ecc, first get a wyvern and dismout it mid air. The wyvern has a platform like part on its neck so you can shoot while your on its neck. Also bring parachutes or something to break your fall.

Lots of people saying Griffin is best way of taming, which I don't disagree with, but In Bob's situation you need to be careful taming a Griffin with tranq arrows, as arrows take more health and Griffin's don't have much so you can kill them pretty easy by accident. I tamed a 150 and it barely had 100hp left. Have fun 😁

Griffin is the easiest way to knock out Quetz Solo..You dont need saddles for Griffins so u can tame them at any level..you can shoot while u fly a Griffin..Good Video Bob.

@@TheBobBox I use 4 or 5 Dino gates..Stone or Metal prefered..There are some good videos and several traps u can Build.Trying to describe it by Text would just confuse you ..Look forward to the Griffin Taming Video..👍

@@TheBobBox I also use the stone dino gates method. I put like 5-7 stone gates all in a row like a hallway. You put a gate on one end and make sure they are spaced enough that you can get out but it can't. You have it chase you in the other side, you slip through the sides, then place a gate on the other end. This is also how I tame argies assuming they don't kill me bc they hit harder 😅

PS: if you get hit while flying on your Sinomacrops you drop and stop gliding. Learned that the hard way trying to lure griffins and argies 😂

u could grapple on to a arg and make the arg attack the qu and just hit the quetzal with tranq darts or arrows. this works because when a quetzal has been hit it is faster than the arg also args are slow.

I got to say your video helped me out a lot when it comes to taming the quetzal, but also it helped me out a lot when it comes to taming the sinomcrops too, now my favorite thing to do while I'm waiting for metal to smelt is to go by the geysers in the Lost Island map with my sinomcrops to get shot up in the air by it and have the tame fly me around lol. Just getting back into ark after 2 years away and ty this is what I was needing found a wild 135 quetz and I want that boy now I am playing through all the stories and all the dlcs been to 4 maps and gotten 0 artifacts but this is me preparing for everything I'll need before I hunt it all down

I literally just got a quetzal unconscious now I’m here lol I never even watched a video I chose yours first cause it’s not crazy long all I did was hit it twice with my argy then landed after I hearded where I wanted then I just start cross bowing narc arrows it would look like it’s going down and did come down but wouldn’t go unconscious till I shot two up close now I just need to know what it eats ❤

I found the best way is to fly at them with flyer, then eat rare flowers to make them agro on to you then I bring it down to the ground jump off and knock it out, hope this helps

Bob,the easy way is to build a trap on top of a mountain and use rare flower to angry the quetzal,trap him and voila :)(be aware rare flowers angry all creatures arround u.

I used griffin to tame a quetz and it's easy(on mobile) and it's really eazy since you can use weapon while raiding a quetz Edit: *actually my first quetz was just chilling on the ground so.. I decided to shoot it*

Grappling onto a wild Quetzal, then shooting it, will cause it to go into flee mode, and the grapple disconnects, so no you don't grapple onto wild quetzal to tame it. I do however believe you're a simple man.
