Nice vice as always! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! A question: Do u always use ableton stock plug-ins when making ur own sounds? If not, what other plug-ins do u use?
@dilbydj2 жыл бұрын
You can do everything you need with Ableton plugins. Or Logic, or FL, or any DAW. They are amazing. Buying different plugins will not allow you to make better music, only practice and creativity can do that. What sounds better, a shitty song played on the best grand piano, or an amazing song played on a cheap piano? To answer your question, I do use other plugins. But they are not in anyway essential. Maybe you could narrow down the question. What type of plugin are you interested in? Delay, synth, reverb, saturation, etc? What are you having trouble getting out of Ableton? Maybe I can recommend something.
@olegkonchenkov2 жыл бұрын
@@dilbydj Dilby, maybe you can make a video on how essential plugins work: Delay, Reverb, Compressor. You have a gift to explain things in easy way. You were excellent describing your process for synthesis in this tutorial. Cheers!

Keeping it simple yet diverse....Run your music/sounds through an analog synth and tweak all day..Run sound through a hardware sampler like the Ensoniq ASR10 rack..Get found sounds, your voices, your house sounds,outside sounds,and tweak..I say this because NO ONE else can duplicate what you come up with. Create new sounds with tape machines or hardware samplers and then run them through machines and have some fun with making distortion and aliasing..

All good ideas my man. However, I doubt that 99% of the viewers of the channel have any of the hardware. You've mentioned. The point of the video is to give people a very base level understanding of how to synthesise sounds as this is a complete mystery for most people. My intention is to open the door for creativity, instead of preset flicking (which is also fine).

@@dilbydj Well if someone cannot just take the time to read or learn with some simple piece of gear ,they are not all that interested anyway. No one NEEDS a lot of gear nor anything new/expensive. When i got my Roland analog synth it was $250,so i even sat it on my bed and just messed with it, experimenting. There are FREE soft synths, free desktop computers, books you can get for less that $10. The real issue these days is there is TOO much to choose from and people peddling 'NEW' and expensive gear. There is this fake idea you have to make things complex, trying to 'sound like' someone who is already established. A sawtooth/sine wave, etc is exactly what it is across the board whether it's from a 1999 synth/2023 one ,efx are the same overall if it's a $20 pedal/Eventide H3000,Iridium,open source plug in. For example, I have a MAc G3 i got freshly revived for $5,found a DAW that used to be over $300 for free. I have given away at least one laptop and 7 desktops for FREE, so the only mystery is if you really want to be a musician then why don't they grind and get it done. I can step up and prove everything i said is within reach.That being said,if anyone really wants to make music there should be people available to actually facilitate ways to get gear, books, and software.
@dilbydj2 жыл бұрын
@michael s Not sure who you are arguing with bro 😂😂😂. I never said you were wrong. The point of the video is to explain basic synthesis using stock plugins. I'm not trying to make anything complex, I'm trying to make it as simple as possible for people getting started. Judging by the feedback I have received I was fairly successful in doing so. Clearly it's a bit beyond your level of experience so please understand, you are not the target audience. Not sure how giving away laptops, buying cheap plugins, and anyone's lack of work ethic has anything to do with the video. I would be intrigued to know, did you even watch the video before you pulled up your soapbox and started ranting? 😂😂😂
@michaels80882 жыл бұрын
@@dilbydj First of all I did directly address your video, and just because you do not like what i wrote does not mean I am 'arguing'.That's the way little skirts,little girls debate.. The simplest way is to get free or inexpensive stuff,read,ask questions,and experiment,whether it's hardware or software. YOU are the bozo trying to speak for people you do not know, and I have firsthand knowledge making music and learning synthesis is as easy as one makes it..periodThen your dummmmmmmmmmmmmmm azz says 'lack of work ethic has nothing to do with the video????If you have a work ethic that sucks how would that translate to learning synthesis and making great music???I never said anything about lack of work ethic,I said exactly verbatim what I MEANT..
@michaels80882 жыл бұрын
@@dilbydj How do YOU know what 99% of viewers have or use???Where's the proof to support that???MY POINT WAS TO ADDRESS that synthesis is ONLY a 'mystery' if you allow it to be,with all the available tools...duh...software/hardware it's all the same to have to make the effort,without worrying about HOW to arrive as a musician.
