This is such an easy recipe to make your own sandwich bread using sourdough starter.
It's difficult sometimes to find a sandwich bread that is not loaded with so many additives and preservatives. You can make your own at home with just a few ingredients.
These are some of the products I use for cooking and baking:

You will need:
1 1/2 cups lukewarm non-chlorinated water
1/2 cup active sourdough starter
1 tablespoon of honey or sugar
4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon non-iodized salt (I prefer sea salt)
1/2 cup melted butter (or any oil you have at hand)

I made this recipe, I didn’t have AP flour so I used bread flour. Problem was that the dough was too sticky hard to handle ! I did however managed ; it’s now in loaf pan rising before baking! Do you think it was sticky because of the bread flour?

@@monikaj3296 Hello. Thank you for your question. I am not sure. Because we are using extra ingredients such as butter, you might want to use parchment paper next time to line the pan. I really hope that it works next time. Sometimes I have used parchment paper to bake certain breads. Also please be aware that the humidity in your environment plays a huge part in fermentation and baking. Have a blessed day!

Hello and thank you for your comment. Yes. After a starter ferments and it's bubbly, while it's still active, and before it descends, you need to bake a bread. If you're not going to bake another loaf of bread immediately, you can store it in the fridge. When you're ready to bake a bread, bring it to room temperature, feed it, and let it ferment. Then when it's bubbly and active, bake a loaf of bread. It's a cycle. However, when a starter is young, you should bake at least two to three loaves of bread with feedings in between, before you store it in the fridge. You need to build up the colony of yeast and make it robust. You can also train your starter to consume any other kinds of flour.
