I've crocheted one shawl. I needed something soothing to calm my mind while I was recovering from an operation to remove cancer last year. This is a beautiful shawl, I love the gradients along the edge. But as beautiful as the shawl is, the story is just as beautiful. I actually felt the ocean, as you were telling the story. I was 15 when I decided to make a shawl for my junior prom. It was just a rectangle with a lacy edge, but I was using thread, not yarn. Needless to say, I did not get that finished in time, even though I started it, giving myself a year to make it. It took YEARS. MANY YEARS. But unfortunately, my husbands health has severely declined recently. He was dx with a terminal blood cancer a while back, and it's taking a toll now. My focus and funds are taking care of him, his medical needs, and treatments at the moment. This shawl is amazing, and i will definitely be making this.
