It's call a "C-stand" which is short for Century Stand which was first created by Matthews Studio Equipment. It's also the wrong stand for that setup, it's not made to take that kind of weight out from the head. It really should be a beefy baby stand and you should have a shot bag on it. Also that's a Hollywood arm, not a boom arm. Boom arms are bigger and typically counter weighted.

Hi, do you have any issues with the umbrella closing? I have the same one from the same brand, and sometimes it closes on me when I move it. Besides the scare it gives me every time it closes, I stopped using it because I have to warn my clients not to be frightened if it closes. Any tricks to prevent it from closing would be much appreciated. Thank you.
