Every time I make a new tea cosy I watch your excellent video again! Thank you very much. I’m fascinated by your Brother Innovis sewing machine that has an attached fabric support - I have never seen that before and it appears to be a feature that is not available on current machines.

( I am a novice sewer), just thought I would share with you that I have just applied the same principle to making a lovely tablet cover and again, made it in minutes and really pleased. Thanks for this tutorial Debbie. I'm about to make one now - a Christmas present for a good friend. May I ask what the 'apron'-like piece is, fixed to the front of the machine. To me, it looks as if it's maybe designed to help slide the fabric upwards and feed better for sewing it. Thanks, I'd love to know! ;)

Great video. I want to make a tea cozy out of organic materials and, as a newbie, I think can easily follow your instructions. Thank you! (Now just to find my sewing machine in storage, lol!) But I'm wondering about laundering this. Mine tend to get a lot of use and a lot tea stains from a full pot. Would this repeatedly launder up just fine, as is? Or would you recommend stitching across the bottom of each open edge, or perhaps even add some stitches across each panel (like a quilt) - to hold the stuffing in place? Glue is not an option for an organic item. Thanks again!

Hi Debbie, a friend of mine has an 8 cup and a 10 cup "Brown Betty" teapot, and I want to surprise her w/ a tea cozy for Christmas. Here are the dimensions that I found on the Internet for the 8 cupper: 10.25 inches L x 7.5 inches H (with lid) x 6.5 inches W (mouth of teapot is approximately 3 inches). What would be your suggestion to cut the fabric to?
