Hi from Adelaide! This project is a must-do for my grand kids as well. I think I will use a holesaw for the frame that you created using your scroll saw as I do not have one. Now that I hopefully have your attention I would like to ask some questions re: your other video about your workshop (1) I also have the exact same lathe as you but no faceplate for bowl turning. Do you have any suggestions as to where I can get one? (2) Where did you learn about welding? I was absolutely fascinated by your welded sculptures and would love to start welding myself. I would really love you to make an 'Intro to Welding' video for newbies like me. Keep making these videos as they are really great..

George Bredon - thanks for the feedback. Yep, using a holesaw or even forstener drill. It would be just as good for the hand-hold on the top Lathe: doubt you will be able to buy one. But it wouldn't be a big job for an engineering works to make one for you - of you could build it yourself once you learn to weld. Welding - I watched lots of "how-to" KZbin videos to get me started. After that it's all about practice. Of course a better welder would also help. But there is always something better to buy.
