Trying this for the XC90 tomorrow. Got the front lift on, but struggling with that top nut. Didn’t think about giving it some pressure. Thanks for the video!

What year xc90? I know the rear suspension setup is different than the xc70. The xc90 should be springs and shocks not struts. I tried using xc90 rear coil springs on the xc70 but they were different.

Good solution to an annoying problem. Thanks for this.

Your welcome! I was changing suspension setups twice a year, lifted in winter and lowered during summer. I needed a faster easy way to do it. Just have to be careful or strap it good so it doesn't pop out, had it happen a few times. It's at its last lifted setup for good now.

@@MONSTERXC70 I'm half way through changing struts on a 2001 Volvo V70 and I'm going to try this. I got the struts out yesterday but had trouble getting them back in because they had a bit of tension on them coming out. Now the peg for the bottom won't go down far enough to slide the strut on. Another thing I'm going to try is put a floor jack under the strut and see if I can push the strut up enough to get it on the peg. Thanks for your video!

@@EverydayProjectsyes there is alot of tension there, it's the best method I found so far. I do pretty much all the strut replacements where I work and all the alignments. Jacking up on the strut itself will compress a little bit then it will start lifting the vehicle too. It doesn't seem like a lot to compress but it is. Good luck and hope you get them no safely.

@@MONSTERXC70 I just got the strut installed using a floor jack. It only had to come up about 1/2 inch to line up with the bolt hole peg.
