You can't take any other ship.... you can only board other ships. Jackdaw is the only ship you can sail..

The Spenc But have you noticed that a Brig is best suited for us in this game? Jackdaw is fast, has mortars, has a ram and can easily take on Man O' Wars. Frigates don't have ram and mortars and Man O' Wars are very slow...

I do this all the time. I catch 6 ships with this method. you just have to know their patrol patterns. It's tricky though, because if there's a battle nearby they go away really fast. wandering ships are the easiest to catch. Killing the captain first immobilizes the ship, so you dont have to kill everybody. Rinse and repeat and you're farming ships easy.

Kalei K I sail in their patrol paths. when they get really close I jump out of the ship and swim to the other ship as they get closer. You can climb the side of the hull really easily, but timing and positioning is key. after that I hook myself up to the top of the sails and sneak above the captain then kill the capt. After killing the captain the ship is pretty much yours.

I just ram a level 60, shoot it with heavy guns, shivel, maybe mortar or chain canonballs before ram and board it, but this metod may save me lots of crew.

Upgrade the Jackdaw and you can take down Man o Wars easily. Note that Man O Wars are very slow. Frigates can be taken easily by only cannons if your Jackdaw is well upgraded..

Funny. I stoped sailing the jackdaw when i found the man o war. Then i swimed to the man o war while someone was sailing it and killed the british on board and then i shot the man o war with the jackdaw and boarded it and boom theres my man o war
