I found with my dog that the main cause of car sickness was not as much to movement of the vehicle as it is general stress. For me the key was to associate the car with good things that the dog liked and get the dog to the point where they will willingly get into the vehicle willingly and not have to be lifted in (can be tough with smaller dogs, you can accomplish it though by clearing a space in the floorboard for them to access). A good drill to run at home is to entice the dog to get into the vehicle and back out completely on their own without driving anywhere. From there add starting the vehicle to the mix and repeat until comfortable. Then add a small roll around the driveway, then neighborhood, and slowly add more and more distance. It does take time but this has been what I’ve found to work very well for increasing the dogs comfort in vehicles. Good luck man!

Hey Mike, I have a similar Diamondback/FrontRunner bars and RTT setup as you. I have issues with reaching all the way in to the bed to grab gear so I pulled the trigger on the medium bed slide from FrontRunner. Fits the Tacoma like a glove. I can still fit my Dometic CFX 35 and no longer have to climb into the bed to reach for stuff all the way in the back. Something to consider if you haven’t done so already 🤷🏻♂️.

On the topic of Maple puking in the car, we recently got a kennel for our dog to ride in while hes in the back seat and it seems to have maybe helped his motion sickness. Im assuming because he is more contained and has kennel walls to lay against and gets tossed around less. He does much better in a vehicle now that he has is little kennel home to cozy up in.

Do you or Brad have any experience with fitting skis diagonally in the bed with the Leitner Rack??? Im wondering if the vertical support bars at the tailgate interfere with lying skis diagonally in the bed. I have skis up to 190cm in length, and im pretty sure they will take up every bit of length available. About to pull the trigger on a tacoma and looking at which rack set up will be best for me. Leaning towards the Leitner so I can put my mountain bike in bed with front tire hanging over tailgate....But the ski situation is a potential issue.... Thanks!!!

Can you put locations of spots in the videos? I understand not wanting to have a ton of people flock there, but maybe just the city/town? It'd be awesome knowing where you can do dispersed camping and the views you find are stunning
@LastLineOfDefense3 жыл бұрын
Colorado is already a cluster of crowds, so no, I'll never put locations, unless I'm just in already wildly popular spots. The whole influencers geotagging and showing locations has ruined so many places unfortunately.

@LastLineOfDefense3 жыл бұрын
I just used this stuff and cut it to shape - amzn.to/3pYUcrq - not a perfect solution, but good enough for me.
@MWDAdventures3 жыл бұрын
@@LastLineOfDefense I just wondered if heat was an issue with this style of light. Looks like a good solution. I really wish Manufactures would look at amber more and ways to dim out of the box. The race to more lumens is over ! Its insane how bright these new lights are but what good are high lumens if you can't run them in camp with the truck off without risking killing your batteries. Long story shortI bought this tape looks like this solution will work for some of my led cube lights. Thanks again.

Ok, here's my real question. Where does the puppy sleep? Because that's my problem. I mostly sleep in the bed because I have a 75 lb dog and a 95 lb dog. So getting them up 6 ft in a ditch on top tent would be a work out. Not to mention my big dog doesnt like being picked up. So basically I'm also asking for myself as well.
