Hey! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial and as a suggestion, I’d love to see you paint a Blue Jay next… They’re such cute lil fluff balls and I’ve been wanting to paint them for quite a bit but need some guidance..

Oh I love that idea! I have a robin sketched out besides me but I'll look right now for a blue jay reference! Just to confirm: You are looking for a "Blue JAY" with a white chest, pointed head and black and white pattern on the side? Or a "Blue Bird", which is a soft blue with an orange breast? I'm excited to start!

Oh, I love this technique! I used to add white gouache over my painting to create snow, but this way is so soft and fluid… I will try that for sure. Happy Holidays to you and your family ✨

Yes! The softness makes it ❤️ Gouache is still great for highlights for that extra magic sparkle

I love this but I have a terrible time with water control and shading and being left handed is a challenge with strokes.

It takes some practice-always dab your brush off for more control ❤️ you’ll get the hang of it!

Why were your hands showing up ‘underneath’ the sketch?? You’re not painting on a pencil sketch paper?

I have a graphic overlay of my sketch on top (added during editing) because the actual pencil sketch doesn’t show up very well on camera. Hope this technique was helpful!
