This is an extremely helpful lesson for a beginner like me. Thank you very much! It answered several of my questions with respect to pronunciation. Also the short vowels in your slides are unbelievably helpful... Why are the Arab school system and the media not starting to add them? It would be so useful for everyone. I mean, what would Arabs say, who want to learn English or any other European language, if we started to remove all vowels from our texts? And even if we started being that lazy, with all the computer software everywhere, it would be so easy to have them automatically added.

Question, Do you always remove the last letter for the Al-*Insert Arabic word* (Im making up a random word K?) Like for example. Original word: Malehkun The Word with Al-: Al-Malehku Or anything with an U? Or is it for every word?

Hi, when you make a word definite by adding al to the beginning the indefinite marker (tanween) which is the doubled form of the vowels change to a single form, so Kitaabu-n كِتَابٌ changes to al-kitabu الْكِتَابُ the n is dropped from the end of the word.

Hi Emanuel, excellent question, when the words are on their own, its normal not to find or pronounce the final vowels, when the words are used as part if a sentence the. Depending on the cases you will find and pronounce the vowel endings. See the lesson on definite and indefinite articles. Hope this helps

Why are words sometimes pronounced with the double vowel or normal vowel but another correct pronunciation would be without any vowels. So shamsoon becomes shamsoo when there is ال , I think I get that. But other pronunciations it is simply shams
