Make sure the o2 sensor body is clean....there is tiny holes near the top where atmospheric air must enter in order for the sensor to work ...

You state that the first test "is only for the oxygen censor before the catalytic converter" (1:19) . Don't you also need to do a voltage test for the oxygen censor that's after the catalytic converter? If so is it done the same way as the one for the oxygen censor before the catalytic converter?

After the CAT everything is cleaned and the O2 should read a constant number not changing much. There is no test to verify the CAT is working. But if it does change like the front one, the CAT could be bad.

volvo 240 manual states the multimeter needs to have " a minimum impedance of 10 megaohms" and that "using a meter with less than 10 megaohms impedance can damage [the car's] LH control unit." i can imagine that this information may be similar to many other if not all vehicles, so my question to you is: should this at least not be discussed in your video? and how can an individual know by looking at their meter specs that their meter indeed should or should not be used in this testing? thanks in advance!

The O2 is always reading but it is calibrated to works best at 600 up. you can read the oxygen in a propane furnace but what good is that?

I"ve got a 2005 town and country, keep getting P0032 and 0132 codes. I"ve repleaced the 02 sensor 4 times, and recently replaced the ecm as well thinking surely that was the issue. CE light came on again. I"m completely lost. Any advice ? Faulty wiring from the sensor to the ecm ? Parts store recommended purge valve ? I"ve replaced the MAF and the map sensor, and don't think it's a fuel leak.

Siii. afecta la economia de combustible ya que la ECU esta calculando la proporcion Aire/Combustible a partir de datos erroneos. El motor vibra y es inestable en ralenti, hay perdida de potencia, puede perjudicar a largo plazo el convertidor catalitico ya que la composicion de los gases de escape cambia. Aparece la senal "Check Engine" encendida en el dashboard y lees los codigos de error con un scaner aparecen varios codigos(ejm P0171,P0141,etc). Hay 4 terminales: 2 son el calefactor (deben medir entre 2 y 10 ohmn de resistencia) los otrosa dos son el elemento sensor y miden alta resistencia (de 330 kohmn a infinito). Si mide bien pero el codigo persiste, se puede intentar limpiarlo de varios modos, sin embargo muchas veces es una perdida de tiempo. Es mas fiable reemplazarlos. Por ejm los sensores originales del Honda CIvic 2012 de mi hija cuestan casi 200 dolares. Cuando dejaron de funcionar (a los 10 anos) puse unos genericos que me costaron 40 usd y duraron 3 0 4 anos. Se cambian muy facil y solo cuando lo haya cambiado 5 veces llegara al costo de la marca Denso (originales). MI hija no va a tener tanto tiempo ese auto.😂😂.

My 1987 Isuzu pup doesn’t idle and the carb is clean. It starts but if I don’t keep my foot on the gas it will die out. Would it be this, bad spark plugs or something else?

I am no carburetor expert, but the idle adjustments need to be analyzed and changed accordingly. If you you had a electronic fuel injection with a throttle body I would recommend to replace your IAC(Idle Air Control) valve and the TPS(Throttle Position Sensor).

That number is the heater it is not the O2 sensor portion. The heater only helps the O2 sensor work faster.

Hello my friend, i have a peugeot 206 and i have a problem at cold start.. my car starts to run in open loop and after 30secs upstream o2 sensor start to give some readings (0,8V and high negative short fuel trims) putting my car in closed loop for some seconds making my car to shake .. then o2 sensor goes back to steady 0,5v and 0% fuel trim) and car returns to open loop and all work fine. When it reaches 36-40°C it goes again to closed loop, upstream O2 sensor starts to change readings again and all works fine know. The CTS and upstream 02 sensor are new. I have just extend downstream sensor's wires. Can it cause this problem? Sensors have heated element..

What's the procedure for a A/F wideband sensor ?

I installed a new o2 sensor in my car, but I still get low constant voltage of 0.4 volts when on idle. If I go to 2000 rpm it drops to less than 0.1 volts. there is almost no fluctuation. If I go back to idle it jumps to around 0.6 sometimes and back to around 0.4 volts. What can be the reason? Does it mean the ecu is already putting the maximum fuel it can put and it still not enough to make the mixture rich? How can I troubleshoot it?

It shows your car cannot control the fuel mixture. and is running lean at 0.4 and worse at o.1. When you return back to idle it runs rich a bit but not correct. O2 only read the exhaust it is not a repair if the car is broken. Read the list of lean car. conditions at 2::35

not necessarily there are many other factors that can cause misfires but O2 sensors are sometimes the culprit. Since you have misfires then its probably a good idea to do other checks as well while you're at it

My fluke multimeter doesn't have a 2V⎓ setting, I learned to do this via measuring resistance... was just looking for a guide for that method. Thanx anyways. Also you go way too fast for people to follow along. Yes, I know, pausing is a thing, playback speed options are a thing, rewatching is an option... I get all that but so is finding another video and not subscribing cuz I'm not try'n ta fiddle with all that on my phone while testing my O2 sensors. I'm just say'n. As an electrician with multiple multimeters, (all fluke, an expensive high end brand) I know how to make this work without the 2V setting, but I was illustrating a point. Not everyone watching would. This is meant to be constructive criticism to help when making future videos.
