I think I read an interview where they said they tracked down the guitars themselves. The older brother took a chance on buying that Silvertone from Finland, saying he saw Chris Isaak with a similar one. And Dan's Auerbach's guitar techs helped him get it set up just right, so it's really his sound now. I think the other is an old Gretsch Chet Atkins someone had stashed away since the 70s, that the younger brother immediately fell in love with. At least that's what the article said.
