When I was a teen in the 80’s, I got a eurail youth pass- which allowed unlimited travel on all trains in the Schengen zone!! 😄 I spent a few summers traveling all over France and elsewhere, and it was super affordable! Beautiful memories of the train rides 🥰🥰

@@LittleLulubee yep, I really enjoyed Seattle. As a vegan, it was difficult with food. Most of the places I've been to have been closed (edit: in the meantime, I should add) due to the effects of the pandemic on the economy so I'm glad I didn't move to the US. In a way, though, I'm also sad I didn't move. The workplace was toxic (Amazon) and took the better decision not to be a slave for a few years while waiting on my green card. I do miss Seattle, though. I liked that there were no guns and that the people were very nice. 👍🏻

I was in Montparnasse this time two weeks ago when me and my wife were en route to the UK when we travelled from Surgeres on the TGV from La Rochelle to Paris. The cost of food in Montparnasse and Gare du Nord is astronomical just for a few items. Still train travel in France is always enjoyable and both are impressive stations.

I think the firs host, no glasses, has an interesting way of speaking, she really breaks sentences down into numerous chunks.followed by very brief pauses. I also find that the expression 'du coup' is used a lot by the French, way more than I remember years ago. I always think of the expression tout d'un coup but nowadays I think it can mean so much more than that. I'm going to ask a friend from France about this. The maps showing the locations are fantastic, very helpful. When I lived in Tours it took 2 hrs Paris - Tours. That was a long, long time ago, much less now with the fast train.

It may be easy French but I have a hearing problem so they still speak too quickly for me to catch what they are saying. (It's the same for me when people speak English quickly too) Thankfully I can read the subtitles and it is good to learn some modern French words as I learned French at school in the 1960s when pen was plume not stylo (we weren'y allowed biros at our school just fountain pens) and I travelled on ma bicyclette not mon velo!
