I am a mature student and have had hourly lessons each week, face to face with my Latin American teacher who is very experienced and very good. And after 10 months of learning I now need to LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN to normal fast speed Spanish because I need to train my ear. That’s what my teacher has told me and it is so correct. One can do all the vocab and grammar but after 10 months you have to start speaking and listening to the huge variety of native speakers to actually understand what’s being said. And these presentations are SPOT ON for doing this. I listen once with eyes closed (ignore the subtitles). I listen a second time and read the English subtitles as they speak. And then a third time with no subtitles……perfecto. Muchas Gracias from The English Lady 🙏

Las historias de mi abuela sobre Barcelona y Valencia ... de sus padres y de toda su vida me hicieron enamorarme de estos dos lugares y de España sin conocerlo. I agree about the parks. I actually have the opposite view on the dirt though - I would say Barcelona is remarkably clean for a city of its size and population, in terms of litter. I see street cleaners all the time. What Barcelona does have a lot of is dust!! In the summer when you have your windows open, it is hard to keep the house free of it.

I'm from Barcelona and at uni I had international friends and I also studied abroad. They pointed out that I talked slowly and that they could understand me, also they were suprised I could understand them with their "broken spanish". That's because I adapt the way I speak and I use simpler words, pronouncing clearly and talking slowly because they are learning.. Also, in recent years I've been told that my accent doesn't sound local, but with my friends/family I speak fast and according to some of them I do have a strong accent haha

Spain is a very livable affordable city... i love Barcelona.. Madrid is awesome in own way but something about Barcelona which was very comfortable to see and felt right at home.. coming from New York City... the streets are similiar in grid boxes and got the Gothic Quarter for the historic feel. the food was amazing and got the best of new modern area to historic part and got the coastal beach area. Barca is amazing city

Mi novia y yo fuimos a Barcelona hace un mes. Fue muy interesante. Pasamos cinco días en Barcelona y dos en Stiges un pueblito 40 minutos por tren. Todo fue muy bonito e interesante. Todos los lugares relacionados a Gaudí fueron increíbles. Me encantó Tibidabo, la montaña con una basilica encima. Puedes subir a lo alto de la Basilica y la vista fue muy impresionante. Especialmente durante el atardecer. La comida fue muy buena. Un restaurante llamada "Paixano" en el Barrio Gótico fue mi favorito. Tres cavas y tres bocadillos por 16 euros. Fantastico! Una cosa que a mi no me gustó fue el cafe estaba tan débil en muchos cafes. La proxima vez, quiero ir al campo! La gente fue muy amable.

I haven’t taken Spanish in over 3 years yet I can understand a fair amount with just the audio and Spanish subtitles! So cool considering Spanish people talk soooo fast (where I live, most of the Spanish speakers are Mexican and I feel like they speak slower and clearer).

It’s one of my favorite cities to go and have been there 5 times already! I live in NYC, and Barca is a much cheaper city to live but I know the pay/salary is lower compared to New York! Great food, transportation and cultural diverse! I would live there in a heart beat!!

Estuve en Barcelona por mi segunda vez en febrero. Muy recomendable la altura de los bunkers por el atardecer y la Casa Vicens de Gaudí, que está ojalá menos conocidas de las otras pero merece igualmente la pena. La zona de la Barceloneta para pasear por el domingo está también muy bién!

lo que me gusta de Barcelona: la belleza de la ciudad, la arquitectura! Es muy lindo y me gusta como hay el mar mediterraneo también, con la playa y el ambiente "marítimo" y muy artistico!. Y como soy vegana, me gusta como hay muchas opciones veganas en restaurantes, cafes y también en el supermercado. Lo que NO ME GUSTA! Es como es CARISISISSIMO! MUY caro. Y eso no me gusta para nada. También no me gusta como hay muuuuuchos turistas. Cuando estuvimos en el Parque Güell para el amanecer muy temprano, habia mucha gente, todos tomando fotos y no senti que podia "saborear" el momento. Pero bueno :)
