Go with you got right now, and later learn to read sheet music. You learned to talk before you learned to read and write. So learn or train your ears to know what the notes are and it makes the puzzle of sheet music easier when you get there. Happy or sad, you will always have a song in your heart wanting to get out and fly. Good luck.

i'm a beginner, and i must say, playing the violin is a lot more exhausting than it seems! each finger movement also moves the muscles throughout almost the entire arm (forearm), and after about 20 or 30 minutes you really start to feel it. had to take my sweater off for how exhausting this was!
