Beautiful turntable. Powered by a rubber band, uck. You would think they would make a badass direct drive unit that will run forever and never need a new rubber band. BTW, I think this is a bit of overkill, buying a $4,000 turntable to play my $3.50 records I bought years ago.

Thanks for looking, and to each their own! Many high-end turntables still use belts because they're fantastic shock absorbers, efficiently isolating the platter from irregular movement of the motor, even when the motor is in very close proximity.

I purchased my C Sharp already set up with the Ortofon Black Quintet. When adjusting the anti skate-weight to sit at 6:30, as the the instruction sheet you’ve shared says to do, the anti skate-weight is higher above the plinth than shown on the instructions. I had to slide the support rod in past the halfway point to allow the weight to sit right at the recommended 6:30. I’m assuming this is due to a different VTA setting for my particular set up. Or should I be concerned and call my dealer? The included manual does not go into specific detail about this. Much appreciation for the video.
@vanaltd.72743 жыл бұрын
@@robrob2904 Hey Rob, apologies for the delay. Don't worry, the height of the anti-skate weight above the plinth does vary with the VTA. The position of the support rod varies with the length of the anti-skate thread and it's perfectly all right if it's not positioned on the halfway point. Starting at the halfway point is just a good rule of thumb to make sure you end up with enough play to do the finer adjustments needed for your particular setup after you have it roughly set.

Had mine for a year now and i am very happy with the performance, bought it with the quintet black. Only complaint is the belt which is poorly glued together, a new from Vana lasted less than one side of a record. With propper technique and glue it was easy to make a lasting connection.

if I accidentally connect power cable to tone arm input, would it 100% damage the cartridge ?
@vanaltd.72743 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is almost a 100% probability that the cartridge coils will be blown open. One way to verify if the coils are damaged is to use an ohmmeter to check for continuity between the center pin and the shield of each RCA of the tonearm cable. If you see an infinite resistance, the cartridge is damaged.
@oohora3 жыл бұрын

All this for this turntable instead of making two videos it should be one it would be helpfull to see how counter wieght and antiskating is hooked up this looks expensive and I am sure it was not 100.00 dollars so if you want people to properly set this up 1 vid should be done ,I will say it is a beautifull TT but the belt looked too thin for me and it kind of stretched far too easily for it to last long when the platter alone is ten pounds I can imagine sub platter is not light at all and you got to add the drag of tonearm as it plays record will add to stress of belt ,not impressed with this turntable for me to even think of getting one too audiophyle for me sorry JRo

With all of the engineering involved in turntables one would think a FULLY AUTOMATIC DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE complete with an attached dust cover with little, or no tonearm vibration interference could be possible. It seems these companies, and their engineers aren't actually interested in the future of their technology. There are still turntable manufacturers that build them without a phono preamp. Paying big bucks for a turntable only to pay EXTRA for another product to be able to use it is TOTAL BULLSHIT. Imagine buying an electric car, but you have to put it all together before you can use it. That's what you get from this turntable, and notice there's no mention of PRICE.

It's why I like direct drives. Chuckle all you like, and spend thousands on turntables if you like, but the people pushing all of these HIGH END tables know there's fools like you out there and they're the ones laughing all the way to the bank.
