I've heard onions soak up bacteria in the air. I found cutting an onion in half and leaving it in a room where whoever is sick is sleeping can clean the air of the bacteria causing them to be sick and hopefully will speed up the recovery process. Has worked for me in the past. Get well soon guys!!

I'm not sure what your family's sickness is, but have you tried warm ginger tea or ginger water yet? Ginger is actually very beneficial to the immune and circulation system. Add some lemon for extra vitamins and honey or dark brown sugar for soothing properties and to balance the strong kick of ginger.

I speak from experience that flavored water is the way to go. Especially adding ginger and some lemon juice helps a lot! Maybe try cucumber, ginger, lemon juice and mint in water overnight and then taking the ingredients out before giving it to the kids. Tip: maybe for avery do something with strawberries, it makes the water a little pink!

This just happened in my house and my doctor told me that most likely most of the germs and things like that come from my son that is in preschool, he gets us all sick. She recommended that we use saline water spray to clean his nose after he comes from school or at night, that would not let any infection or virus get to his system it will wash it out... It wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

When I was pregnant and got a pretty bad cold i didn't know what to take to get better, so my mom suggested taking a tablespoon of honey with cinnamon a couple times a day. As weird as it sounds it worked wonders. All i did was take a spoon fill with honey then sprinkled some(enough) cinnamon on top. The honey i was was a soft honey not a liquid one but i'm sure either will do just fine. Hope you all feel better soon! Thanks for taking the time to make videos even when you're all sick at home.

Hi Meg!! I L.O.V.E ur cooking recipes! They are just AMAZING, even though im not a mum im still a kid but i just love watching Whats Up Moms! I have a tip which can help u! Once on a day my dad wanted to cut an apple for me and my brother but he noticed that the apple was shining, so he took a knife and cut it smoothly without removing the skin. What we found out was breathtaking! The apple was covered with wax! That is how our fruit last longer! And wax brings about 90% of cancer! Make sure to peel of ur apples and not eat the apple with skin! That is just a tip but u can also find fruit that have no wax in it, for eg u can grow these fruit! Thanks a lot Meg for ur wonderful recipes! Baiii😘 ~Joud

I am so sorry that your family is fighting the yuck this season! It's tough. They are surviving part time day care very well with this. My best to your and your family!!!

My 4 year old drink Camomile & Lavender tea with Menuka honey a lot at night. I also give her a ton of vitamin C rich foods. Fortunately, she loves red bell peppers! I also give her a probiotic from the brand Raw that she takes in her homemade green juice (made with red apples so it's sweeter). Also, adding garlic to everything! It's naturally antibacterial and super healing for the insides! She stays pretty healthy and with these amped up when she's sick, she gets better more quickly. good luck with your family. Get well soon!!!

Tips for keeping the family healthy! Of course hand washing is important. I also like to make sure my little ones get a multi-vitamin every day as well as vitamin C, preferably in the form of fresh fruit and vegetables or fresh fruit juice. I also like to wipe down the bathrooms, door handles, and light switches with clorox wipes or surface cleaner. I try and keep toys clean as well, especially if they've been in someones mouth. Something else that is easy to overlook is keeping hydrated and well rested. I like to make sure everyone has at leas 8 cups of water a day and gets (for the little ones at least) 10 hours of sleep. We also make sure to use tissues and cover our mouths when we cough or sneeze using an elbow. It's really important to throw away used tissues and wipes right away so that the germs don't spread. My last tip would be to remind kids not to touch their faces (eyes, mouth, nose) with their hands because that is how the sickness often starts. Hope you all feel better soon!

Best medicine that isnt full of all the bad stuff for upset stomachs and things it works wonders. hope you and your family feel better. best of luck xoxo

Love the recipe, thank you for sharing! My go-to drink for when any of us start feeling sick is a warm honey-lemon water. About 8 oz of water, 1 whole freshly squeezed lemon, & 1 Tablespoon of RAW honey, warmed up. The lemon kills the bacteria in the mouth & throat, & the honey helps sooth the throat & chest. It always helps! Good luck, I hope your family gets feeling better soon!!

Lemon and Honey drinks (If you can slice a few pieces of ginger in there then thats even better) - My 4 year old will drink this! Also garlic in everything, if you can get away with grating it finely and putting it in your meal even better. It is a natural antibiotic but looses some of that when it is cooked. Finally my last tip is don't medicate every fever. As long as the child is hydrated and the fever isn't drastically high, let it run its course. It is the bodies natural way of fighting infections, by reducing the fever you are actually reducing the bodies ability to fight the infection. Obviously there are times where that body temperature needs to be bought down, but if you can do it with cool cloths and fluids then the body will have a better fighting chance.

Get a vaporizer in their bedrooms while they sleep. I swear by this for my daughter. Sanitize, sanitize, sanitize....including light switches and door knobs. Make sure your sanitizer is a good one, not the cheap stuff (you want Lysol - I think its best). Make sure they are getting the accurate amount of Vitamin C they need. If you can - open some windows to get fresh air circulating. Change that filter in your air conditioner/heating unit. Over here on the east coast - we are suffering bad too. So ready for Summer. Hope this helps and hope everyone feels better very soon! :)

My best secret for health is a lemon ginger shot! I've used it for when I have the flu, a cold, a migraine, nausea, and it works! I always feel better in 2-3 days! You can look it up, and it shows the benefits for each ingredient :) Lemon Ginger Shot Recipe: - 1/2 a lemon, squeezed - 1 inch of ginger, grated --- mix these 2 together - 3 shakes of cayenne pepper on top, don't mix - make this 2-3 times a day (take it like a shot, it is strong) for as long as you need to feel better! I also noticed that if I take this right as I feel a sore throat coming on, it gets rid of it.
@sighcantthinkofaname8 жыл бұрын
Local honey is supposed to be good for allergies. The theory is it gets you accustomed to the pollen in the air or something like that. Idk if the kids would be up for this, but my go-to when I'm sick is ginger tea with honey and lemon. I feel it covers all the bases. Stomach issues, colds, sore throats, it helps everything. Just be careful not to add too much ginger, especially if you use the fresh stuff, because you don't want it too spicy.

I know it's basic and you probably do it already but just get them to drink lots of chilled pure water. I live in the UK and I just drink it straight from the tap but don't know if you guys prefer bottled water? The NHS recommends that a grown woman drinks two litres of pure water per day (tea and squash can count too but pure plain water is best). Obviously this is a lot for kids to drink so I would reduce the amount! But I find that if I'm starting to feel ill I can usually get rid of it in a few days by drinking lots and lots of water and flushing the virus/ bug out of my system. And lots of rest! I hope they're better soon!

I loved this video. My opinion for keeping your family healthy is to use essential oils. We put thieves on the bottom of their feet before they go to schoom. We diffuse oils that help with whatever symptoms they have. Since we started doing this the kids have not gotten nearly as sick or as often. I hope this helps.

Humidifier for sure!, Vicks, disinfecting wipes, Lysol and lots of vitamin C (Juice, powder, etc). Those are my go to things for colds and stuff.
