There’s a lot going on with London. The elitism and xenophobia on her behalf against Black Americans was a tale as old as time. I think she’s deeply insecure. This might be a stretch but I think there was a little bit of jealousy when it came to Tammy and Eva being that they are lighter & she projected her insecurities by making digs at their ethnicity. She beautiful though idk why she was acting like that 😒

Not colorism because Nivea is also light. I feel it was more elitism. London felt she is better than Tammy and viewed her as just a "ghetto black girl". London was really just upset and offended that Tammy didn't bow down (giving karen vibes). Eva was just a casualty because she stood up for Tammy.

First of all, Sade is Nigerian. Secondly, London reeks of low self-esteem. And, can we all agree that Nivea needs to be protected at all costs?!?!

london was definitely the drama all by herself. this was the first time i have ever heard of her. she was instantly annoying and only got worse until she finally exited stage left. hope i never have to see her ever again in my life. i know they didn't pay her enough to run off her potential fanbase like this.

just found this show tonight The girl London was saying offensive things about african americans the whole start of the show she offended Tamny about the area she's from in B'More THEN she told Eva that she has body dymorphia THEN she offended Eva in front of her friend by talking about having peoples husbands "eat" her THEN she got upset because she's never been proposed to She didn't appreciate Nivea's efforts to have her on the trip & Nivea should accept that bottom line: London can't accept that she's not on the level of "under priviledged" African Americans

I agree with all of this. People are defending her acting like it was just the situation between her and Tammy. NO, it was bigger than that... Imagine London going to visit that family and her acting out of control in those peoples home. She was out of line..

I was watching with a friend, and we both said London was acting like a Karen. If you can’t handle that little bit of conflict, you’ll never make it in the entertainment industry. Imagine how she’d react on these Black radio shows and podcasts where a lot of Black comedians have to go to for exposure.

I swear I wouldn’t know about half of these shows if it weren’t for your reviews, so thank you for putting us on! I’ll definitely check this one out, especially since the ‘eat’ part of the trip takes place in Asia. Asia holds a special place in my heart-I lived in Japan for a long time, which is where my KZbin name comes from. And as a Black woman, I totally agree; I love seeing other Black women in spaces where we’re not usually represented. By the way, I don’t know if it was you or another subscriber, but thank you so much to whoever gifted me a membership. That was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture, and I’m excited to make the most of it this month!

Yeah, it was my least favorite part of the show and I’m mad this unresolved storyline wasted valuable time on this short and enjoyable series. She said offensive things and tried to hide behind them being a “joke”. Saying “I’m so sorry for you” was rude, she said Eva had body dysmorphia when it was really her issue, she wasn’t clear on appropriation vs appreciation when it came to the dresses so was uncomfortable there and not willing to participate. She could have Googled it or watched a KZbin video to figure out attitudes towards foreigners wearing that style of dress. And I’m still mad they didn’t go on the food tour 😅 At the end of the day this is your job and we need to film a scene. I think they started getting annoyed with trying to figure out if she was being serious or passive aggressive and painting it as a joke (Ex: saying I live in 20k square feet house next to Adele after Eva mentioned her living situation). That gets tiring after a while when trying to make genuine connections and relax and have fun. That left me wondering are you serious, or jealous and making a sarcastic comment at Eva’s expense? I think a girls trip show was just not for her. The setting triggered her insecurities, she needs more practice navigating in diverse spaces (being aware that it’s a conservative country and you’re making the host uncomfortable, sharing how your culture prepares tea and why it makes the tea taste better vs just bashing how Americans prepare tea and never letting up, etc). and also she wasn’t equipped to stay centered when she faced the more assertive/defensive communication style from Tammy (which Tammy was willing to be accountable for and admit it’s an area of growth). I think her healing/growth would have been being able to have a conversation and grow an authentic bond with the ladies but it was too uncomfortable so the story line became annoying and unnecessary versus aligned with the purpose of the show.

I am a very sensitive and anxious individual in general and when I watched this show I hated London. I realized her apprehensions weren’t based in anxiety but coming from the fact that people were calling her out of her bs. No do I think Tammy and Eva could have said what they said without yelling, absolutely, but London started the trip making digs. When a joke was made in return it was a problem. Especially the trick nonsense, you asked them what it was and they told you. If you fit the description that’s ok. But she just annoyed me to no end.

I’m confused.. Britain must do comedy different than America as well as EVERYTHING else.. Cuz um there was just no “funny”. And I make a lot of cringey unfiltered “Jokes” that a lot of people don’t always get, but I didn’t even see any of that kind of “joke”. Nivea was way funnier to me than the self proclaimed comedian.

I thought it was so weird and random how this just dropped on Peacock. I didn't know anything about it. I just clicked on the app and all of a sudden it was on the home screen. At first, thought it was an old show that I had never seen. I was iffy, because I'm not here for shows that just throw random people together as a friend group, but it seems like London might be the main outlier here. I actually considered not watching it based off her shenanigans, but hearing that she leaves, I might give it a shot after all.

The only reason I even remotely knew London is because I watched a film called Group Therapy that she was featured in at Tribeca. Although I didn't really click with her in that film, it's wild how she was very transparent about her struggles as a black person in the UK, yet turns around and pulls stunts on this show amidst some black Americans. Yeah, no.

I think London and Tammy should have had a conversation. I think London triggered Tammy with her comments and London was triggered by some of Tammy’s comments. It’s one thing to see Black experiences on television but why not be open to learn about the person who is right infront of you? And why does it have to be a competition if England has a better ghetto than America? No one chooses where there are born. No one chooses who they are born from. A ghetto competition seems extremely insensitive.

Ok so I actually completely understand what London was trying to say London black culture is totally different than black American culture and black American culture is popularized as being “the struggle” it’s like that in movies, music he’ll even a lot of black people popularize it as that. So I don’t think her point was wrong at all. I think where London went wrong was she never brought up American culture in a let me learn about your culture kind of way it was more of I’ve seen your culture on tv I want no parts it came off as snobby or ignorant like she was looking down on black American culture
@nikeleclemente8602
@nikeleclemente8602 2 ай бұрын
Now I think where they all went wrong was after the apologies were made the situation should have died but Tammy Eva and London let it drag on like the car situation when London was talking about her house why call her a liar the girl is a successful comedian and her mom owns a hotel maybe her house is that big and the tea thing Eva asked her how the tea compared to London and when she answered Eva said she wished she would stop making comparisons like huh? I think by that point the situation just couldn’t be saved

I really didn’t what was so upsetting. It might be a cultural thing and Americans might take it personal. She said all that she knew about American culture was from the wire. What is wrong with that statement, was a moment to help her have a different experience. I also agree that the English culture is different, their ghetto might be different but instead of talking personal and being defensive it could have been a teaching moment and a great conversation.

It was the constant micro aggressions. It doesn’t sound like you’re from America so you may not be able to pinpoint those things but I’m sure if things were reversed you would understand. She’s also a grown adult and lived in America for some years now so to still have those perceptions doesn’t make sense.
