Restauranteur, TV personality and King of KTown Chris Oh, takes you on a WILD food adventure through some of his favorite spots in Los Angeles' Koreatown.
After eating what feels like a week's worth of tacos and talking about Korean food, Oh decides he wants to wash it all down with some soju and Korean food at some of his favorite Ktown spots.
We make a stop for galbi jjim - Korean braised beef under a mountain of mozzarella cheese melted at your table, shaved ice and Korean BBQ.
I've been eating KBBQ for years but apparently I've been doing it wrong. Oh shows us how to make a KBBQ taco with rice paper, meat and cilantro. Perfection in a bite. I also learned that the slice of onion that they give you at KBBQ is to put your meat on so it doesn't overcook,
No night in Koreatown is complete without soju shots. We decide to make out 6th and final stop at Toe Bang, a Korean bar with a menu full of Korean bar food. I don't remember much aside from taking shot after shot and scarfing down various side dishes. We wake up in Oh's house where he makes his fool proof hangover recipe; Korean ramen with spam, American cheese and a side of Tylenol and a shot of tequila.
The party never stops for Oh and neither does his love for Korean food (and food in general) and passion for getting good Korean food in front of as many people as possible.
Where should Chris go next? Let us know in the comments!
