I think as we observe other people we build our own ideas of what a normal person is, and because we want to fit in, we want to match that idea of normalcy. Then when we can't, due to expectations being too high, etc. We feel bad about ourselves. And when we go above the normal, then we feel good. I finished the video, we have the same idea 👍

My wife's favorite line on this subject: "Never accept criticism from somebody that you wouldn't ask for advice." Also, self-improvement's a dangerous rabbit hole IMO. Everybody is more different than we believe. Some advice will work for 80% of us, but give yourself permission to be in the 20%. If it works for you, hold on to it. If it doesn't, it just means you're human and we're not all the same.

For me personally, I’ve spent a lot of time to myself, and I’m at a point where I am very self aware and know myself pretty well. I think that everyone has an equal amount of good in them as bad. It’s what you decide to do that determines who you are. “It’s the deeds that make the man.” Ig, but I KNOW I’m a good person. I don’t let other people define my self worth because they don’t know who I am. If I let other people define my self worth and walked through a city for a whole day, I’d be a completely different person. So when someone says “You’re weak” they don’t know I workout, or even how much I can bench (because I have never benched so not even I know lol). My point is no one knows who you really are, so why should they judge you, and why would you let them change your self worth? Don’t judge people online ig.
