It's a strip mall literally a mile and a half from Hartford Union Station too. Goes to show how small Hartford is when a two minute drive from city center gets you into strip mall territory.

As someone who's worked in wok-centric kitchens, I knew *exactly* what that metal was as soon as I saw it. It's from a steel wool pad used to scrub any chunks off the pan between dishes. How they were so bad at rinsing their pans as to leave giant chunks is beyond me. More than once, bruh, don't go there! Never happened at our joint.

Oh my god. I used to order from there ALL THE TIME when I was a student at the University of Hartford nearby. It was never great, but it was never all that bad. Then again, nothing truly tastes terrible when you’re stoned and/or intoxicated.

This is what happens when the cook doesn't know how to control the heat on a wok.... They use way too much oil in the oil soaks into the food instead of cooking the food from outside and draining off. You are a brave man

I grew up a couple of blocks from this joint. I can agree that this place is pretty gnarly, but incidentally that pizza place next door, City Pizza, has some of the best pizza in all of CT

When something is prepared and then frozen then microwaved is when it has all that greese. Wouldn't surprise me if to cut cost they're doing that, you can tell that beef was gray and not cooked fresh.

What I have noticed is with hole in the wall establishments, a sign they are struggling is if they are no longer doing dine in and they are take out only. There's a struggling Chinese restaurant up the road where I live and they are completely take out. When I went inside, the restaurant looked like it was converted into an office space. It was sad. The food was 2.5/5 too. It wasn't awful but it wasn't good at all.

Back in the 1990's that and Sgt Pepperoni nearby were my jam on Farmington Ave. I liked the Chinese food and even my friend from Taiwan who ran a Chinese restaurant thought the place was solid. Unfortunately, now I live in Central Massachusetts and people don't know what good Chinese is. Luckily here in Worcester I found Red Pepper which while truly authentic Chinese food also goes a solid General Tso chicken.

This show needs to go BIG. you got all the character for food shows. I'd be ecstatic if a big time production company picked you up and got dirty with a BEST and WORST reviewed in EVERY state. that would cap you to only 50 episodes so you could smash multiple joints regional in bigger states like Texas. (Best worst of east Texas/west Texas etc) always entertaining to hear the honesty about what restaurants are really about.

Chinese food in America is frozen and for the most part processed. I realized that when I married my wife, who came from Roi-Et Thailand. She's been cooking since she was 10 years old. Thailand has Indian and Chinese influence in cooking and culture. When I went to Phuket and Bangkok with her, I had some amazing street food. My wife's Tom Yum and spring roll is authentic and awesome. Dude... Travel the world and taste the cuisine in Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan. Peace out.
