Leaves: The youngest leaves are used in April (in small quantities) as a flavoring for various sauces. Dried leaves can be used to add tea. Flowers: They can be candied or dried, added to tea mixtures. Fruits: The fruits to be harvested in June to July are used fresh as sweets, for fruit juices, jellies and jams. But they are also used to make compotes, spirits, wines and vinegar. You can also dry the fruits for tea preparation. Rind: Some sources state the cambium can be eaten. Herbal medicine mentions leaves, flowers and bark. The stems are also used as a diuretic. The internal use of the fruits has an astringent, blood-forming and diuretic propertie. In addition, the application should have a positive effect on cough, fever, diarrhea, edema and nervousness.

Do you known what can be grafted on prunus padus? It grows like weed around here.

In general, you can graft any stone fruit onto any other stone fruit. Apricots, nectarines, almonds, peaches, plums and cherries are stone fruits.

😂I don't think I'll be trying the leaves if I get the chance. Thank you for the information about the bitter flavor 😲, I am going to remember that. I don't want to make myself sick, or worse.
