🇦🇱 I don't usually make food videos but whilst in Albania I met a couple of good lads who invited me to try some Albanian specialities at their restaurant and so how could I refuse? Join me in the sunny town of Vlora as we try some delicious, and not so delicious local specialities...

Thanks to everyone who sent me messages on Instagram inviting me to their town in Albania or offering to show me around the country. Unfortunately I only had a few days in the country so wasn't able to do anything other than my bunker film and this little one. I will come back one day and hopefully meet some of you then. Falamanderi.

Mad Cow disease (BSE), KURU and scrappie all involve the prion (mutant living protein which can't be killed). For mad cow disease the infection incubation period can be decades or much shorter periods of time. In New Guinea the practice of eating brain wasn't because the perople were cannibals but rather the ritualistic practice of consuming the dead (family members or relatives) to honor them - horrific and vomitous nonetheless. Calf brain (served scrambled egg style) was a very common practice in the rural, farming area of Central Pennsylvania where I grew up - and is still a horrific, vomitous, primitive practice (in my opinion).

It came in a large glass jar and one of those left over jars was passed down to my mom who used it as a cookie jar when I was a kid in the 90s. When my grandmother told me the story behind the jar us kids refused to eat cookies ever again out of that lol my mom could put her favorite treats in there and none of us would touch it 🤣

Total gem of a channel. I learn so much history of countries that I know so little about. Really makes me want to travel to these places and see it myself.

I love how Bald always reverts to Spanish when trying to communicate with someone whose language he doesnt speak! Endearing. "Porque?" I hope this video brings the Adriatik Restaurant some business. They seem like nice guys.

I believe that's because there are similarities between Albanian and Romanian, there are pockets of a language very close to Romanian in Albania, and remember Romanian is a Romance language.

@@emilkarpo Its definitely not that. Bald just hears a foreign language being spoken and decided to respond with another foreign language. Albanian and romanian have a few common words but none of the spanish words he used were similar to either languages lol

Very similar to Iranian thoughts about guests. We say: "Guests are the gift from God". Very nice to see Albanians are hospitable people as well 🥰🥰

@@TabbyAngel2 Thats lovely. I think when we think in a hospitable way, God gives us more, so we can continue to pass it on. We are only wealthy when our wealth is in motion, when it is circulating. As soon as something precious comes to a standstill, I believe it depreciates. I think I'll write a poem about this ;)
