You should look into Germany's (and Austria's) "sweet mains". Things like Kaiserschmarren or Germknödel aren't snacks or desserts, they are considered proper main dishes. That's why they are less sweet than your average dessert. There's also Reibekuchen with apple sauce, which I think you've tried before, there are semolina based dumplings and casseroles and much more, often substituting vegetables with fruit compotes to go with a carby baked thing. A lot of great dishes!

Glühwein can be made from any color of wine, there is even a rosé Glühwein although you don't see it very often. The Schwarzriesling version is generally pretty good, I like it because it usually has a bit of a black cherry kind of flavor. I like to make Maultaschen fried up with onion and egg (although the egg can easily be left out if you're trying to make it vegan). Basically, slice the maultaschen across to make roughly 1/2" slices. Lightly salt and fry some thinly sliced onions in a pan until they start to caramalize, then dump in all of your maultaschen slices and cook them, stirring frequently, until some of them start to brown a little (if you're using a beaten egg, add it in at this point and stir it). We like to eat this with a bit of Hela Curry Gewürz Ketchup on the side (a terrible habit I picked up from my German partner).

Hey Trey, you have such a positiv and open minded personality. That is awsome to watch. But please mention, that there is a weihnachtsmarkt in almost eher City or village in germany because the christmas Saison is so important in germany that it couldn't fit in just one childhood. Germans love their weihnachtsmarkt, adventkranz und adventskalender so freakin' much.

Maultaschen are also great in soups, try it at home. In BW you also get them ready to eat in the supermarket but home-made are best. Vegan ones are also purchaseable. Asian sauces are not standard for that but fit really well. Kaiserschmarren is just mashed pancake. Try the mushrooms in cream sauce, much better because you taste more of the "Champion". Never had white Glühwein, sounds interresting. Be sure to try chestnuts/Maronen the next time, they are not everyones cup of tea, but i love them. Take care.

At Christmas Markets you need to use cash almost everytime because it's a market experience. You also would'nt use a credit card at a weekly farmers market (Wochenmarkt). The Christmas Markets date back to medieval times. There are some you can still experience this.

Trey, I would love to wacht you on a tour of the Stuttgarter Markthalle (right next to the Altes Schloss). The Markthalle is the most atmospheric market hall in Germany, offering a great variety of specialties especially from Mediterranean countries. It also has a cozy traditional Swabian restaurant offering Maultaschen ("Marktstüble").

I really love you, your channel and family and I´ve been following you/it since months...but pleaaaase dude..try to learn/integrate some other, more nuanced words than "amazing" because after the 314th repetition it sounds kind of lazy/dumb/boring! How about using "interesting", "very good", "delicious", "spectacular", "totally different", "better than I´ve expected", "fabulous", "surprising", "stunning", "breathtaking", "astounding", "startling", "incredible", "wonderful", "fascinating", "awesome", "wonderful", "incredible", "unbelievable", "unusual","remarkable" and all the other availabe words to describe something extraordinary you´ve experienced!? Please don´t get me wrong! I´ve subscribed to your channel since months! I love your content, personality, family and attitude! I just can´t cope with the fact that a german Bratwurst seems to be on/at the same level as 3000 years old ruins in turkey, a new german beer you´ve tasted or a park you´ve just jogged thru. All of them are totally amazing! And I totally agree! But at the end of the day it really is a bit generalizing, lazy and lame to use the same word over and over again.

I’m going to continue being my genuine self and reacting the way that comes natural to me. If word usage bothers you that much and you want more scripted, less genuine content…you might want to check out another channel. I’m Trey…I personally would never ask someone to change themselves or refer to their reactions or responses as being “dumb” or “lazy”.
