Man now that’s some good olé family fun right there, and loved all the sarcasm and excitement lol.. Man if they eating some whiting they missing out that’s all I’m gonna say about that. I lived in Osceola county since the 80’s until 2020 when we finally decided it was time for a new adventure and man I’m telling you I sure miss the fishing brother. Fresh whiting, Crappie and tilapia was a staple around our house. Keep up the awesome videos man I’m glad I found your channel yesterday, although you got me wanting to take a Florida Roadtrip now👍🤣

If you don’t cut all the way through the tail and just flip it over it makes it so much easier to fillet off the skin because you have so much more to hold onto and it makes it easier. Try it sometime, just a tip. Love your videos and Happy New Year 🎉

A definite winner of the mother/daughter look alike contest, those are some of the biggest whiting I've ever seen and putting your fish in the saltwater/ice slurry is the best way to preserve them, it is also the most humane way to dispatch blue crab....nice work.

one thing is so fun to watch is when the whole family go out. we see laughing and fun time as a family. I'll take a mess full of trout too. Damn! I love catching whiting in the surf at St George Island but they aren't near that big!! Great tip on the icing the fish - I use ice and saltwater when icing speckled trout, yellow mouths or whiting - we usually cook them the day of catching but if not it keeps them from getting mushy!

I remember the House mill grind being powered by a water wheel. Pretty neat to see. Yes pretty small world, I work for Manson here in Jacksonville....

I know there are like 4 kinds of whiting, but where I live (Mobile,Al) we call those ground mullet. They are so good to eat ! I differentiate them as bay whiting and beach whiting. Ground mullet are bay whiting.

White trout are the best. I caught one here on dauphin island that was 5 lbs 8 oz. The world record was caught on dauphin island at 6 lbs 2 oz. I was close it wasn't very long only 21 inches
