Pani puri is my ultimate favorite! The little balls in the water is called ‘Bhondi’, and they are just little fried balls. Just adds some extra flavor and texture. Different parts of India do pani puri differently. And some places add bhondi to the pani water. Love your content! Especially all the Indian food! 👍🏽

6 Pani Puri in streets of kolkata will be around Rs. 20 which will be around 15 cents. The puri is actually made from scratch not a pre-made disk thats deep fried which you get from the supermarket, they make the dough with semolina flour and white flour with leavening agents.
there are as many variations of pani puri as there are vendors lol! This one is another variation...and the little balls in the pani are boondi (made from chickpea again) and they just add another layer to the overall mouthfeel. That vada looked incredible...but again...that was not an Indian pav...it seemed more like a bun! And the Kathi roll is a modern take (was created in the 1930s in Kolkata) on the kebabs with a wrap that allows for them to be eaten on the go! So youve now also had a bit of a feel of streetfood from Kolkata here! Brava...well done with the spices!

It is especially a girl's bestfriend because girls and women here when they go out for street shopping there always is a pani puri or chaat or street food vendor nearby so we just grab a plate.. so its like a cultural thing here that girls and women love pani puri and chaat and can never resist a plate

Wraps are not authentic Indian food, but we call kathi roll. It originated in Kolkata just minutes away from my house. Its about 2 dollars. you wont believe how much 6 pani puris (in Kolkata we call it Fuchka) costs. Just half a dollar. You had the vada pav just like an Indian, chilli in one hand & vada pav (pronounced as vara pao) in other.

Have been eating double egg roll wraps & chicken wrap as street food in Punjab since last 50 years. Even long before me even my granddad used to have it. In north India, especially punjab, we cook a lot of roti or paratha in Dinner, which get left over, many times we feed to cows next day but not always, so to eat night roti in breakfast or lunch, egg used to be added to add softness and moisture, and any vegetable could be added as well, have eating with practically all vegetables including saag and even kerala . So yes its very much Indian food, when ever any food gets cooked frequently anywhere in India is Indian food. May take time to become common or may get called by different name. As my family been having double egg wrap and chicken wrap it for atleast last 100 years, common part is its reheated/cooked always with egg. So yes wraps are authentic Indian food, and as a kid, mom/grandmom would make it atleast twice a week. and my grandmom learnt it from her mom.

@@sandeepssangha As I am from Kolkata I do not know what u cook in your house. But even if you made that, it definitely was not called wraps as that is not an Indian term.

@@bollywoodstars619 Yes i once heard a South Indian say Gulab Jamun is not Indian dish, as they call it with another name there, i laughed so loud. There are always idiots who have a different view. Name of dish is not important, as its is commercial name given for most to identify it, main thing which makes it Indian is the recipe of making it, In punjab its not called wrap, its called egg roll, chicken roll, chicken tikka roll. And they come with wheat roti/maida roti or plain Paratha as base. And what the lady eat was a chicken tikka roll, And please dont say roll is not indian word so it cant be Indian, even in Rajasthan, there is a traditional dish for the poor, where roti is sprinkled with salt and red chilli powder, roti is rolled and eaten with raw onion. So Indian know how to fold roti to make it into a roll shape long before Britishers came. We may have a different local name or no name. But since now we speak Hinglish mostly - Hindi mixed with english, so roll is most common way to ask or sell in India. In posh places it might be called wrap
@bollywoodstars6199 ай бұрын
@@sandeepssangha most places in India use the word roll & so in Kolkata. & u should not call anyone idiot since they have different views. U may also not know what an authentic Bengali dish is, but I would never call u idiot at your ignorance
@sandeepssangha9 ай бұрын
@@bollywoodstars619 If you think people who call gulab jamun is not Indian dish are not idiot, may be you might agree with them or are too forgiving to not call them fools/idiots. You should know the dish, the lady ate is authentic punjabi roll, and hence its a Indian dish, you casting aspiration, that roll or wrap is not Indian, just because its not Kolkata or bengali dish and you are NOT AWARE OF IT, is disrespectful to rest of India and their native dishes. Rich or expensive spots call it wrap, ordinary folks or street seller call it Roll. It is 100% Indian dish as punjab comes in India too, and you cant discard it as non India or speak for rest of India if its not from your region and not aware. So accept your mistake. Its Indian dish. Just like India, Hindustan and Bharat are same thing, called differently by different people by different name, same way Chicken Tikka Wrap/ Chicken Tikka roll are one and the same and Its Indian/Punjabi dish

I would never promote such a business and visit them. In India you can get 1 wada pav for half a dollar and six pani puris for less than half a dollar. If they charge money they should atleast give decent portion. Chindi.
