I found rice cakes in the freezer section of my local Asian super market - the sliced version of the tubes 👍🏼. did you know you can also use them for a number of Chinese stir fries? One dish is a traditional Chinese New Year dish - Chao Nian Gao - but you can find plenty of recipes online. So if you buy some, you can use the rest of the bag (they usually come in kg packs), for quite a few dishes . 🤗 I’m so surprised you couldn’t find gochujang! Even my local Tesco (which has pretty limited options on the international foods) has a few brands and multiple kimchi options. On that note - get yourself some fresh Vadasz brand kimchi (from the fridge section). I think it’s the one that Miles likes 😊

Koeksister Melkkos Bobotie Biltong (you can make a biltong pooitjie it is essentially biltong pasta) Would definitely recommend making malva pudding and serve it with custard ( warm malva pudding and cold custard or how ever you prefer but I enjoy the hot cold contrast) Our snacks are very similar to what you have can’t think of snacks other than biltong that is original to us. You can try bovril on buttered toast. Snacks: Cadbury 5star PS chocolate Wilson toffees there are many different flavours. Fizzers (I like the sour ones) Ouma rusks ( not really a snack but tasty non the less there is a peanut butter flavour that is really nice) My personal snack ( Oreo’s wrapped in a thin layer off pastry and then baked either in the oven or air fryer)
