I'm french and I like Picard frozen food for its taste and because it's practical but I don't eat it everyday. Except for that I love your enthusiasm while discovering each meal in this video and wish that some french would do the same instead of constantly criticizing what we have. The youth, especially, would prefer burger, sushi or kebab over this while I like both as well as traditional french cuisine 😋

Thank you for posting this Mikey. 1)It is nice to know there are affordable meals to be had in Paris. 2) I'm very surprised that this type of store would exist in France a country that is a haven for fresh, non-processed food. 3) Only in France is even frozen food higher quality than restaurant food in many parts of the world.

Unfortunately, we french are like everyone else: we don't always have the time nor inclination to cook everyday after a day of work. That's why Picard exists. And to be honest, some of the food Picard sells is better than most of us could cook at home.

@@lolilollolilol7773 Thanks for your honesty and insight. It's been a long time since I've visited France, but I remember the food standards being crazy high and not relying on processed foods. It's nice to know that the French standards have adjusted closer to us mere mortals.

I was born in Paris in the 70’s and back then milk was delivered in bottles at our door and my mom would buy food at the fresh fruit/vegetable market where live poultry was also sold . I would never think 50 years later frozen food would be sold in Paris! Really great video 👌

I must say it's is quite surreal and funny to see you reviewing Picard's food which can't be more "everyday life" for me 🙂. But it is so refreshing to have another point of view for something I am so used to it. It's true that the quality is pretty good for frozen food and sometimes excellent. For Christmas and new year Eve, the options are really stunning with limited releases and can help single people having a great meal by themselves.

Typically from 3€ to 10-12€ for each piece. 3€ for the individual pasta (designed for quick and dirty lunch at work), around 6-8€ for the salmon+quinoa, 8€ for a pizza, and 12-15€ for the desserts like the last cake. Be careful that individual dishes will rarely fill you up though, you are supposed to eat a dessert or a fruit and perhaps something else with it.

If Parisians are going to eat "frozen food" it had better be good! That all looked pretty damned delicious. Certainly not the frozen garbage we get in North America.

either paris has really high standard or Mike has a really low standard 😂 I tried the pork mustard paste from this exact chain of Picard. it was just an okay. maybe 6/10?

I think he has low standards, Picard dishes are very basic. But it's still a really convenient option when you don't have time to cook and also healthy compared to other industrial frozen meals.
