I'm not sure if anyone knows but. In florida .. The stone crabs are caught and 1 claw is removed at the joint where the crab automatically detached its own claws.. The crab then is released and claw grows back.. and is not allowed to remove any claws off a crab that only has 1 claw or female with eggs
