Good to see that you are getting better weather down in lovely Portpatrick. Where I am it has been pouring rain off and on all day. You can’t fail to keep your partner happy by buying her a lovely meal Dan ! The mince and tatties are a good traditional Scottish meal, I love them .It’s good to see Stranraer again, I worked near there on my first job. You should check out the gardens at Castle Kennedy at Lochinch Castle estate where I worked back in the day. Mind you, I don’t know if they are still open to the public at this time of year . I am them glad you are both still enjoying your time in D and G and I am enjoying joining you on your fab videos.

Mince, tatties and neeps, basically it's mince meat with onions cooked in gravy, mashed potatoes and mashed swede/turnip. Mince and onions simmered in a pan till cooked, thicken the stock. Boil and mash the potatoes, same with the swede...serve.. each component separate, like you would with a roast dinner.

Love Portpatrick we kept a boat in Donaghadee NI from there a couple of hours brought you to Portpatrick usually stayed a few nights then picking the weather we sailed back. Great times

The village is absolutely gorgeous and the walls are amazing. There is a walk that you mentioned the other day which is the Southern Upland Way it goes past my house if you started from Portpatrick it takes you right into Stranraer xx

Know the area well, always liked Portpatrick. Find Ardwell Bay on a nice sunny day. Beach picnic advised. South of Portpatrick. .

I generally don't care what my food looks like if I know what's in it and tastes nice but those 2 meals were very well presented and looked stunning. Mince n tatties, I used to add onions but the last 4-5 years I add leeks instead. I know they're still part of the onion family but very mild. I just love leeks 😃 Mazzy's mince n tatties with the beans on looked scrumptious too in the little bowl 😃👍

Port Patrick hasn’t changed in years I’ve been there with my family staying in the same place walking up the same step hill but I got to eat in the harbour view and.
