Eating the Other /Motherhood

'How do we define home? What is the experience of losing home for displaced and diasporic communities? How do we create home in hostile and oppressive spaces? These are some of the key questions the Anti-Racist Archive explored with students of colour at the University of Sheffield as well as community partners. The Anti-Racist archive was set up by the Centre for Equity & Inclusion in 2022, to create a space for people of colour to creatively document and share experiences, ideas and political convictions.' For this year's showcase, I decided to respond to the above brief exploring a personal moment that happened in the privacy of my own home. This film sits alongside writing found in the Centre's 'Recipe Book'.
