I was in my hometown recently and we ate lots of very traditional Igbo food. A lot was going on but I was able to capture some for you. Lots of Igbo (Agulu dialect) was spoken in this video so to enjoy the video to the fullest, please read the subtitles, pause the video if you have to. :)

Beautiful video. Reminds me of my Igbo neighbours I had as a kid in Lagos. Mamma Chinedu and her quiet hard-working husband. The first man to buy a car in our building. If you people were left alone, Africans will line up for a visa to enter the African Japan and it's neighbouring countries would have benefited greatly as well with trade and exchange of cultures...

Very interesting video. I must say I have never eaten abacha. Watching the elderly lady make it was fascinating. Nigerian ethnic groups show showcase their rich variety of foods more. I am from Ezi + Illah ( Allah )villages Anioma area Delta State North Igbo speaking area. We make Ngwogwo ( goat pepper soup ) as well. Maybe they should be a cooking contest between villages to see who makes the best NgwoNgwo with me as judge so whoever wins I would have satisfied my stomach eating from both...LOL

Proud to be Igbo o. But I was hoping to see more dishes in a traditional wedding. I live in the US now but when I was a little boy in Nigeria, I was the page boy at three weddings and we had so many dishes not shown in this video: isi ewu, beans and garri, jollof rice, fried rice, rice and stew, coconut rice, meat pie, egg pie, buns, puff puff, suya, all kinds of fish and seafood (my mom is from Bonny, so I had to add that), akara, moi moi, ukpuoka, agidi jollof, utarakpu and garri and farina with ofe nsala, okra and egwusi and okazi and ogbono, etc. Please do a video featuring all kinds of Igbo foods. I miss my home country. 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

I'm trying to pinpoint the part of Igboland you're from using your dialect, Sounds familiar - Agulu!I knew I recognised the dialect (I was commenting before finishing the whole video). I'm from Nanka in Anambra state. I miss all that village life. Haven't been back to the village since I was 14 (left for the UK) but I remember it all. Mostly visit Abuja, Lagos etc when I come back, but I am craving Nigeria again. Our country is one unforgettable place. The food is always undeniably good, which is why although I can cook most of it, I love to get more ideas, tips and a whole way of cooking from you. You are simply the best (bar none)!
