Busbars (bus bars) are integral to power distribution and serve numerous industries including automotive, industrial, and aerospace. Busbars are metal bars that can be composed of numerous alloys but are most commonly copper or aluminum. Typical busbar applications include switchgear, panel boards, power invertors, powered electronics, and high-voltage battery packs.
Eaton offers numerous busbar manufacturing technologies, ensuring the right busbar for every application. Our primary manufacturing processes include progressive stamping, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) bending and our RigiFlex™ technology that delivers flexible solutions. We specialize in both low- and high-volume product mix and can provide prototypes to support development activities.
Our busbars can be combined with fasteners of all shapes and sizes but when combined with our HPLB (High-Power Lock Box) terminal we can eliminate all loose fasteners and provide a self-aligning, quick connect solution.
All busbars undergo rigorous validation per customer requirements. Most, if not all testing, can be completed internally. When busbar insulation is required, we can offer heat shrink, over molding, powder coating, and plastic enclosures. End-of-line (EOL) testing can also be performed prior to shipment.
