Nice review! I'm French and I live in Paris. I can testify Eau Sauvage is one of the most popular vintage Male fragrance in France. It is on the same level as fragrances like Opium by YSL, Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche, Azzaro pour Homme by Azzaro, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme by Paco Rabanne, Tsar by Van Cleef & Arpels, Xeryus by Givenchy, Habit Rouge by Guerlain, Fahrenheit by Christian Dior, Heritage by Guerlain, Kouros by YSL and Egoiste by Chanel. A niche version of Eau sauvage would be Aqua Viva by Profumum Roma or Eau d'hadrien by Annick Goutal which is very good but unfortunaely the longevity is weak as compared to Acqua Viva.

For me Dior's Eau Sauvage is one of my favorites in my collection. Its one of the most refreshing/clean/happy scents that I have . I picked up a bottle for $75 at a kiosk at a dying mall and absolutely love it...it's not like anything else. Its simple/non complex but so crystal clear and open. I wear it all year round when I need to feel refreshed. The longevity for me isn't great...so I have to douse myself in it and usually re spritz at the end of the day. If other reviewers call something "dated" that means I need to go out and buy it and I will most likely love it..which I did with this one. Thanks for a great review.

its my pleasure.i treasure this despite it being short lived...even with many sprays....im considering eau sauvage parfum...that i hear is a beast and much denser of the two....its rare in this part of the world , but its in my list.i agree with everything you said...its never dated for me..and its very relaxing and classy scent :) have a great day brother

I just love your reviews , so informative & interesting. Thanks for the tips too. Getting back to the review on eau sauvage yes this is a true classic . I started using it in 1970 , it came out in 1966 as you know and was the late Steve McQueens signature scent. I still use this today & you can’t go wrong such a wonderful smell . Yes the formula has changed but the dna is still there . Thank you for your review 😊 ps top tip layer eau sauvage edt with eau sauvage cologne for longer lasting 👍🏻

I was in High school when this came out (1966). Dior sets trends while other Fragrance houses try to follow. I use the new Sauvage Elixir for winter while the Eau Sauvage is more for summer. Great review. Cheers from Vancouver

Actor Steve McQueen and Alain Delon favourite fragrance. This scent (along with Aramis) is the male scent of the 1960s. Eternally cool and elegant. If you wear this, you are 'hip'. If you know you know 👌

Dior Eau Sauvage Parfume and Eau Sauvage Extreme are NOTHING like the original Dior Eau Sauvage EDT. The 1966 EDT is a CLASSIC MASTERPIECE. And my #2 favorite fragrance of all time.

I love this fragrance and it's funny you mention Al Pachino in the godfather. I also have the extreme version which came out around the time of Scarface and I've always imagined it's what Tony Montana would wear.

Enjoyed the tips at the end, great video. As per Eau Sauvage, when I sampled it I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist, that's how you know you like a fragrance. It's super refined, mature, classy, elegant, extremely pleasant and natural smelling scent. This and Chanel's PE are my top 2 colognes I wear most often year long. None of the new stuff matches this in quality. Not outdated at all. It's a timeless scent. That's why it's still around and it's a classic. It will be around for a very, very long time. Cheers

I really like the look, I like the notes, but damn is it expensive lol. $70 for 100ml, and the Parfum version is even more expensive. I'll probably still pony up and buy it though, as I love these classic frags. Your reviews are so good, super passionate and you always paint a picture and build a perspective. I almost feel like I know what it smells like when I watch your reviews!

Lycosa the Parfum is way much stronger than the edt. Honestly I prefer the edt much better. The Parfum is hard to pull off and tends to go well for the older men’s. It’s just not a daily that you can use.

The entire Eau Sauvage line is amazing. I just bought two bottles of the reformulation Parfum and it's still fantastic ...smells a tad Fresher than the vintage but has the same creamy drydown

Hey Joy, if you could only get the current formulation of Dior eau sauvage or Armani eau pour homme, which would you choose? I’d tend to go for eau sauvage because it’s such a legend, but the performance seems to be pretty bad from what I hear.

i think both are amazing but eau sauvage is a lil more classy and versatile....both are kinda weak on performance but indoors they work awesome after shower :)
