I do not have a mortgage or debt, and I live off of SS alone now. I do not buy into consumerism anymore and have no-buy months (since last Nov) whereas I pay fixed expenses and prop/school/local taxes. My income is below the federal poverty line so I do not pay income tax. Expected to get a whopping $35 a month COLA in 2025. I use my V60 and Pixel 6A until they no longer hold a battery charge.

Not to mention the whole planned obsolescence shenanigans. Why would people pay basically $2,000.00 USD on a phone with less features, and a shorter life cycle than it's predecessors? The only smartphone company doing interesting stuff right now is Unihertz imo.

Let's be honest, technology has gotten so good that you don't need to switch it up every year/ when you pay off your phone. Also, a lot of software doesn't take advantage of all the power so why bother with the latest and greatest?

Lack of options is my vote. Less than six options exist for a 2024 smartphone under 6.5 inches with a headphone jack, nfc, radio, and external storage.

You are the man who has turned me on to some of my favorite phones …like the V60….I did step out of my comfort zone last week and stopped into T-Mobile …I got $500 trade on my 3 yr old Pixel 6…towards the Pixel Pro9 XL (256gb) - EZ I have to say with the extra $200 discount also…I am VERY happy with the upgrade. It is a terrific phone…so far…for $500. I’m happy.

recently my phone broke.. and my budget for a new phone was about 200 buck only.. so i chose an second hand ex flagship for under 150.. really satisfied with the purchase. it got the jobs done for an average consumer..

They jack up prices, take away headphone jack, sd card slot, charging cables, free headphones, free case. People got a box FULL of accessories 4 years ago. Now you get NOTHING. At a HIGHER price. How do people replace a phone with SD card slot, for one that DOESNT-- and costs THREE TIMES MORE??

We have to agree to disagree friend. The average consumer looks at iPhones and the Samsung A line. The only people buying high end Android phones are tech enthusiasts. But the average consumer is buying the A13 with the hopes of getting an iPhone. This was a great video Eazy.

I think that with micro sd card expansion slowly being phased out on android phones is something that alot of people didnt like. Think about it. Having the internal storage + more storage with expandable memory which is affordable was a huge selling point back in the day. All those media files like music, photos, movies, games, etc. is awesome & never worry on running out of space. Samsung removed it years ago on their flagship S series. Most of the budget A series kept expandable memory. I have 4 andoid phones and all have expandable storage. One of them is the LG v60. Another thing to regarding Iphones is that they have older devices. One of my new coworker that I trained has an Iphone. I asked her which model since I wasnt sure. She said its the iPhone 6s. Being used in 2024. Yep you know how long ago was that. She did say that she didnt have it that long meaning she didnt have it when it launched or the year it was released. Got it for cheap and works fine for her.

Nothing worth buying. Last phone I wanted was the one 12 pro wasn’t gonna get the cheapie 12r. I need stylus. Main phone is note10+ making do till manufacturers give me flagship with microSD and stylus and don’t cost a kidney

These companies are sometimes charging over a grand for new phones when old flagships not only still work fine, but are still getting OS updates, no wonder more people are sticking with what they already have

Yeah and a lot of the carriers will get you to pay $1,300 for a phone from last year and they charge you $125 a month for service Man they they've taken you That's what they doing to me that's the only way I could get the s23 ultra on a payment plan and they take hella money from you

No one is buying phones because there are not enough options. EX: 1. Apple 2. Google 3. Samsung 4. Motorola 5.Oneplus (maybe) There are no other options. People are tired of buying what they don't want. Headphone Jack and Micro SD card support is what people want. They don't want to buy cloud storage or pay an extra $200 to go from a 256GB to a 512GB device. When you can get the same amount of storage for $40 by Micro SD Card.

Long comment 😵‍💫 Here in Europe there is one special thing that have had a huge impact on the population's economy especially in EU countries, and that is russia's invasion of Ukraine. Prices of amongst others electricity have increased insanely!!! (The reason why takes too long to explain..) So therefore the majority of people don't have money to buy as much as before the invasion. So therefore sales on amongst others cell phones have decreased here as well. Have to mention that this does not have quite the same impact here in Norway, because fortunately we are NOT a member of EU (and will never be!!) and we produce all of the electricity ourselves through waterfalls and wind. The invasion will have an impact for years to come in multiple areas, sadly...😢
