IS OnePlus 12 REALLY 2024's BEST Smartphone?

I've honestly grown to strongly dislike it when reviewers make videos about the "best" phone of the year. Because it really doesn't exist. Here's what I mean: If you need a headphone jack and/or expandable storage, every phone but the xperia is a paperweight; If you find yourself signing documents a lot on the go, every phone but the ones with styluses is a paperweight; (Think S series, some motorola phones) If the software you use for work requires an iPhone or if you rely on phones to shoot video for your yt channel, every other phone is a paperweight; If you're a big user of the cameras and only want the best of the best, every phone without a 1" sensor is a paperweight. I'm sure I could think of more examples, but what I'm trying to say is, in a world of differing needs, best smartphone is a statement left unqualified. To me, it doesn't make sense unless a use case is defined.

Watching with My LG V60 now .. Actually I bought Oneplus 13 few weeks ago while i was in Hong Kong and pay more to get it unlocked too so that i can use it in Sydney .. Although Oneplus doesn't have the best camera like Vivo X200 Pro .. Overall i enjoy using it

Android 15 work great. I thought I would upgrade to the 13 but decided to keep my 12 for another year or two. Its still a beast with the 16/512 and It still does everything I need right now.

Agree 100%. OnePlus 12 is a beast for sure! I was deciding between the S24 Ultra and OP 12 this year, since I really needed to upgrade my phone...and I'm so glad I ultimately went with the 12! That flowy emerald color version is simply beautiful to me...and I am aware that some people don't like it. I love it tho! Everything else is as you said; the fluid, smooth, super fast performance, the OS which is so close to stock android and yet way more interesting, the cameras that have never been better, or the battery life...everything is fantastic! For me this is easily a day and a half phone...occasionally even a two day phone. That's how great battery is. 👍👍 As for your bluetooth issue, I think I know how you can solve it. You need to turn off the quick connect in Connection and sharing. When it is on, it's constantly scanning for other devices, even when your bluetooth is off. This is probably causing your issue and it's additionally draining the battery too. Once you turn that off, you merely need to turn the Bluetooth on manually, choose which device, out of those that your phone is already paired with, you want to connect to - the earphones for example...and that's it. I'm pretty sure after you do this, your phone won't be switching to other bluetooth devices nearby any longer. Peace! ✌️

@TheTechPreacher No problem. In fact, I had forgotten to mention it but there's one more thing you should do and it'll solve your problem 100% plus again, it'll save your battery life. Go to settings - location...in location go into Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning, it's the second thing there, right under the 'use location' toggle. In there you have two options; Wi-Fi scanning - leave that on, and Bluetooth scanning - turn that function off as well. I mean, as soon as you read the description of what it is doing, it'll become crystal clear as to why you should turn it off. Cheers!

Preacher, you're the man I trust and I JUST NOW dropped my LG v60 on the headphone jack while plugged in and ruined ANOTHER screen!!🤦 I've already replaced it once with an OEM LG screen I managed to get, but man!, not again!! So, I'm hoping THIS OnePlus 12 will be a spiritual successor to OUR favorite phone of all time!! I JUST ordered it and I'm picking up TODAY. Thanks Preacher for all your help 🙏🙏

Nah the LG v60 is a device that can't be beat. The OnePlus 12 is soooo close but as you know it's missing a bunch of features such as the headphones jack, dual display, SD card, pen, desktop mode, this is why I still keep my v60 as number 2.

I'm not going to lie. My favorite phone is the Motorola edge Plus 2023 and I got to say second behind. That is the OnePlus 12R and it's mainly all the points that you are highlighting in this video. And then my favorite foldable is now the Google pixel fold after Android 15. I've been enjoying the form factor on the pixel fold

Definitely an awesome phone. Avoid getting the 128g model because of the eventual memory capacity. You will run out of memory in about 2-3 years of normal usage.

I've used the OP12 and I'm sticking with Galaxy Ultra. It has more features, and in my personal opinion, the cameras are better on the Galaxy. OP12 is very good, but the Samsung is 10% better, in my opinion. Of course, if money value is taken into account, the OP12 is an absolute steal.
