I'm so incredibly fucking sick of ebay's awful search. I've done everything everyone recommends and it means nothing. And the category I sell in is incredibly niche, there aren't that many competitors. Yet all my listings are consistently ranked last. Even though I provide more details, better photos, better descriptions, and better prices. I hate ebay so much. I sort by cheapest - a higher price than mine shows first. I sort best match - completely unrelated shit appears first. I hate ebay.

Activity Based 100%. List the same amount everyday, no more no less. After 90days increase by 5-10 or whatever your able to do and repeat. If you want consistency in sales you need a consistent listing habit. Aside from that just be active on the site.

Hey Paid, This is a key factor that I'm trying to come to terms with. My situation... I am selling through a deceased estate so I have thousands of items with no need to source. I can put most effort 2 days a week, but can put in time everyday if needed. Trying to get to 200 listings per week which is doable. I can draft 100 on my 2 big days. It seems counter intuitive to keep them in draft and drip feed them out over the next 3 days rather than getting 85 up ASAP and then 5 on the off days to have daily activity. Any thoughts / reasons on what you might do in my situation? Does consistency win out over maximizing number of items listed? Thanks for your input.

@@trisroger I'm making a video about this to give a more detailed explanation… Your daily listings will reflect your daily sales 100% of the time. If your goal is to do 200/wk you’ll want to publish 30 daily, rather than 80 one day and 40 the next, etc. A 5 day work week (Create 40 listing a day and publish 30 Mon-Fri) or 2 days and creating the 200 drafts you'll still want to list 30 a day. Sat/Sun is the extra 10 through the week maintaining 30 a day. I'd schedule the publish times/dates to make it more automated the rest of the week if only 2 days keeping it consistent and less work for you. I would recommend getting to 200 live listings asap but keep in mind “it reflects” and those sales won’t be consistent until after the Algorithm Cycles. You would need at least 4-6 weeks of listing the same number 7 days/week for your sales to be consistent daily after the initial race to 200. The fluctuation of daily listed items will be essentially what happens to your sales the following weeks. The algorithm favors consistency and runs 7/365. If you miss more than 2 days in a row then you basically reset. Depending on store size it could be devastating, taking weeks of listing consistently again to get back on track. For example this week say you do 30-Mon 50-Tue 10-Wed 30-Thu 0-Fri 50-Sat 30-Sun Your daily sales the following weeks will make this same fluctuating pattern. For Example your daily sales will most likely be 1,3,0,1,0,2,3. It may seem counter intuitive but listing 30 daily your sales would be more consistent at maybe 2-3 a day depending on the goods. Your sales will compound over time as the number of active listings grows even though you list the same. Selling 5 items a day is really good, like top couple percent of sellers good. If you find that 200/wk isn’t enough. I’d recommend finishing out the week and then starting the increase and repeat. Daily sales mostly likely won’t reflect the increase again for a couple weeks unless you have a decent amount of active already. 30x7=210 Those extra 10 I would keep drafted for emergency/vacation time. Hope this helps.

I'm eager to check out your video because I'm always interested in different perspectives and ideas about getting the most out of eBay. From my own experience, I respectfully disagree that there is any benefit to being so precise about listing the same number of items every day. I do agree that listing every day is meaningful, but I think that eBay just wants to see consistent growth over time. Do you have more listings this week versus last week? If yes, then you've asked eBay for more traffic. I don't think that 30-30-30 is better than 27-34-29, or even 10-50-20.

@@biffboffo The idea of listing the same number of items daily also has a lot to do with having a routine, as well as feeding the Algorithm. It definitely makes a difference listing the same amount daily. One of which being a structured, disciplined routine will always fair better than randomness, especially in the long run. A consistent listing habit will make things more predictable like daily sales average, growth, costs and time. There is only one rule to eBay …You only get out what you put in. Consistency is algorithmic efficiency.

Thanks for your comment. Adding Free Shipping to the title is not against any rules, but using it, maybe is not really the best option to go with. Your title needs as many keywords for your item to be found and using up the characters on spam words will not make it helpful for your listing.
