On eBay or Amazon? Or Local on FB Marketplace? Do DVD players and VCRs sell really well on both? My only contention is the shipping fee, how much did you pay for that?
@adamvictormartin5 жыл бұрын
Yeah they sell on eBay pretty good as long as it’s a desirable unit. A good vhs player can yield $40 net profit while a cheap one makes you nothing. A higher end dvd vhs recorder combo can make a few hundred. Shipping depends on the market for that particular unit, in my experience buyers pay about $30 give or take.

When cutting down a box, after I fold over the flaps, I cut some of the part off that flaps over on the first set. On the set that is left to fold over, I actually cut all the way through the two flaps. Then, when folded, they line up perfectly. You'd be surprised how much weight that eliminates. And, it looks really smooth and professional.

Buddy buy right or rent to own buy appliances and feature and have a lot of foam. This foam can be notched. Floating the unit I also place cut pieces of this foam on the corners

@VegasAlien15 жыл бұрын
I like to start with foam wrap, then a layer of bubble wrap and for the corners, I use the foam appliance/furniture corners that local home stores or Pier 1 Imports use and either tape or clear wrap those onto the unit. Then you have a cool little "packing pod" that can truly absorb shock, then suspend in Kraft paper all the way around. Alternately, I suspend the unit in foam from both ends, similar to how many were originally shipped. Pier 1 always has separate bags with clean foam of all types, and bubble wrap.

Have always used Fedex in the past for heavier items because of the lower cost. Also, I purchased a Phillips DVDR HDD Sunday afternoon after waiting for one to be posted on Ebay closer to where I live in Vegas. Seller did an excellent job protecting it with the large bubble wrap , and it actually arrived here from California in less than 48 hours after ordering on Sunday using Fedex Home Delivery. so basically it took one day to ship. Probably the best purchase experience and shortest shipping time I've ever had on Ebay.

Great video, I personally pay a lot of attention to how far a item is going and based on that info i will pack a item accordingly, Some of the older vintage stereo receivers that are heavy and bulky require packing peanuts or the heavy duty construction paper instead of regular paper because regular paper will actually compress down and make the item have room to more. I kind of ship all items there own unique way because there are so many variations like weight, size, age, value and what not. But i love seeing how others do things as well so thanks for the video.

I appreciate all the tips here gave me a new perspective last night about going into Savers and Goodwill, although our goodwills suck many times no remotes OR manuals. But my bigger concern is while you factor in shipping on your items into the profit do you factor in all your packaging materials in on a per unit basis, all that bubble wrap, paper, tape, mailing label etc. Probably adds another $5 or so to your cost no? Just curious.

Hello Side Hustle Pro! I just wanted to make other resellers aware of a recent eBay experience. I have been reselling on eBay since 2003, and have never had a major issue. Today I woke up to find my account had been suspended for 3 days because I supposedly miscategorized several items. These items were 1960s men's dress shirts, and a jacket, all still with the original tags. According to eBay these are not vintage items, and should not be listed under the vintage clothing category. I called to dispute it, and they are now in the process of appealing the suspension, which could take up to 48 hours. I am not sure how eBay is deciding what is vintage and what is not, so please beware if you list anything under the vintage clothing category.
@NotSoCrazyNinja5 жыл бұрын
There is probably some document somewhere on their website stating how to determine what is and what is not "vintage". Where that is, no idea.

@@SideHustleNetwork The original comment was sort of a joke comment, but, for those starting out, there is a lot of stuff needed. Boxes, bubble wrap, padding (or paper or newspaper or something), a printer, and of course, the item(s) to sell. Oddly enough, I have three printers and not one of them currently works. Two have a clogged ink tube, and the other one just randomly decided to stop feeding paper properly so it always jams now. I haven't yet replaced it because printers aren't cheap here and ink is insane. If I were to get into this eBay selling thing, I would have to come up with a hundred or so dollars just to get into selling even one item unless I can find a cheap printer somewhere. A better video would have been showing how you do it, but also show how you "could" do it cheaply and simply. Like how to find free boxes, how to find cheap bubble wrap, how to get a cheap printer that "will do the job" until later when an upgrade can be done (Amazon probably has some cheapish printers but haven't checked).
@SideHustleNetwork5 жыл бұрын
3 broken printers and ink prices is a prime example of why we got a thermal. Yes it’s more upfront cost but it’s cheaper long term. We built this whole business in our garage for the first 2 years with all ‘cheap’ supplies so I get where you are coming from.
