That hard line set up is Dope 🔥..I think it looks way better than braided... nice work....

Its cheaper than Braided is why I make them. You can also re use the fittings if you change things up.

Great video, very informative! I'm getting ready to install the same fuel cell. When you ran your return line into the cell, did you install a tube into the return or just allow the fuel to drain back into the tank from its present height? That's where I'm running into a problem with possible aeration. Any suggestions?
@Burndown5 жыл бұрын
It just falls into the tank. My fuel pump is not in tank and the fuel never gets that low to where I feel it would be an issue. If you have an in tank pump I could see how that may be a problem but with my set up I doubt it. Ill have to see if the bulkhead on the cell would accept a line or if it would need to be changed out to do so. Ill let you know tomorrow ill take a look.

It was the easiest way for the money. I think they might make an EFI tank for your car so you don't have to have anything in the bed but its all up to budget. Thanks for watching man!! I will keep making content! Thank you for watching @@Game_Wheel_Garage

Hey, quick question I dont know if you already told what your Fuel pump and filters were but where did you get them from, im doing an LS swap on my C10 so im trying to get an idea on pumps. Thanks man i dig the content you put up!
@Burndown4 жыл бұрын
Well Cole it all depends on power and what you want to do with your build. The car currently has -8 Feed and a -6 return with two reusable stainless filters Post is like 10 micron and pre is like 75Micron I think. They are form a local shop but I believe they are Phoenix brand witch is local to me. The fuel pump is a Magnafuel 4303 but again you probably dont need that. Do your research and use the Sloppy Mechanic Wiki page to help you learn. My car is just over 600 at the wheels and its fun but at that power level you need supporting parts like trans rear end drive shaft converter and so on to support the power so set a goal and buy parts accordingly.

@@Burndown Hey thanks man, I'm actually doing a turbo build as well trying to shoot for 600-700 hp in the truck and i'm doing my research right now since i'm deployed right now. I have a huge list with parts, but im just wanting a fuel system that isnt going to be an issue down the road. I saw your fuel system build and I want to base my idea off your so thanks for the info.

It's best when doing a how to video you plan the job out before video taping it & posting it...things like where the fuel lines are going to go etc & also have a fully charged good battery for the starting test- I did get some out of the video but it really was all over the place & you skipped how you fabbed up the brackets to raise the fuel cell off the trunk floor I thought that was kind of important? Good attempt keep on wrenching thx

Whats up man! I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately this was never intended to be a how to video. I have made a few and quickly realized that no matter how you do something you are always wrong and the how to deal is not for me. HAHA. My channel is just for entertainment and to bring you the viewer along on my automotive journey. Its also made to inspire others to get out in the garage and get something done. If anything this channel is defiantly a work in progress but I do enjoy the ride. Thank you for watching. -Dane

@@Burndown That's good stuff! I've never installed one myself so was looking for a video that explains the process in detail. Your video was helpful it gave me some ideas so it was beneficial. You'd think that there would be a tone of how to videos on the topic but there are not even from the manufacturers which makes no sense but any way keep wrenchin Bro...:)

I got the same cell. What wire and fitting would connect to that original sending unit wire? I’m planning on just rewiring it from the cell to the back of my fuel gauge.

I re-did my feed line and installed -8 since this video. I have a video called fuel lines I think. I just used adapter fittings to go from tank to a -8 feed in this video to O ring fittings on the pump. The set up is the same except the feed from the tank is now -10 and the feed line all the way through the fuel rails are -8. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Dane

hey man another question lol. did you run a fuel filter or does the feed just run straight from the cell to the fuel pump and to the rail/regulator?

I have a fuel cell like that, but my question is can it be gravity fed to a main line?
@Burndown3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. It will gravity feed but you need to keep fuel against the pump so depending on your sed up it may not be the best way to do things. Im converting this fuel cell to in tank pumps as I feel its a better way to deliver fuel.

It really is a fantastic show and I hope they do another season! Who knows maybe they need a cool dude with a 64 chevelle on the show 🤔😁 Thanks for watching!

hey quick question, im in texas and I got a 300zx from 85' and was wondering if I install a fuel cell if id fail inspection. apparently cars in texas aged 2-24 have to go through emissions testing and check for the factory gas caps but since its from 85' the cars 36 years old. shouldn't be a problem, should it?
@Burndown3 жыл бұрын
No idea what your smog laws are in your state. Im in CA and I know if its over 1975 we have to smog it and a fuel cell would not pass in CA for emissions.
@MrPeanut04084 жыл бұрын
Did you make the risers for the fuel cell or buy them?
@Burndown4 жыл бұрын
I made them out of some scrap 2x3 square tubing I had laying around. The problem I had with this set up was that if the filter was dirty I would get fuel all over in the trunk trying to clean it. I ultimately took it off the risers and cut the trunk floor. Now I dont get fuel in my car if I clean the fuel filters out. -Dane
