We're discussing the new upcoming requirements for our businesses and also have some sales from the Barn!

I don't think it's just Germany which have the packing law, it's most of them :( In the European Union (EU), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations for packaging vary by member state. Some countries enforce zero thresholds, requiring all businesses to comply regardless of size or packaging volume.

Could you possibly do a separate small video with screen shares about how to turn off selected countries in GSP for us idiots who don’t know? Thanks 😂

Good old ebay destroying their own platform. No wonder people have left in droves and moved onto other platforms 🤦♂️
@samhartford8677Ай бұрын
Nope. This is the EU imposing this legislation on eBay. EBay has no say over this.

I have just turned GSP off for the time being as it’s just too much added listing time when only around one in every 40 sales go international.

And i tucked the box not to send to these countries in gsp. Thank goodness you can share some clarity. Its vetting beyond me . Also will this solve the other issue with France thats popeed up now. Like it did with germany. About packaging. Thank you

Yes, switching them off in GSP will deal with France (unless you offer your own international shipping option also).

I have already amended my policies and have excluded Europe and Northern Ireland, from gsp, although I have noticed by excluding Europe it also excludes channel Islands and Switzerland! So it looks like I need to go back in and choose every EU country individually which Is really annoying.

It's not just EU it's Northern Ireland. Of course if you are a private seller no worries for them.

Yes
@scented-leafpelargonium33662 ай бұрын
Yes, the ghetto called Northern Ireland. We cannot get from GB and it's expensive and limited from the EU, so the worst of both worlds for us. It feels like discrimination & unfair. 😢
@stoneislandkirkcaldy3 ай бұрын
I don't think it will be a case of turning off GSP but rather non compliant listings being hidden from EU and Northern Ireland customers which is easier, that is my assumption as the regulation would not apply to non EU overseas customers. I feel sorry for those in Northern Ireland as many have had to block them who use courier services plus customs declarations stickers I think are needed too. This will further isolate Northern Ireland despite being part of the UK as they understandably did not want to have a hard border.
@Married2Reselling3 ай бұрын
I don’t even wanna think about the possibility of allowing eBay to hide listings anywhere! But it’s an interesting point because it makes you wonder HOW eBay are going to know to hide listings in the first place, given the mess that is currently the informations areas.
@stoneislandkirkcaldy3 ай бұрын
@@Married2Reselling TBH I'd much rather that they simply hid non compliant listings within applicable categories from NI and EU buyers as the hassle involved with information gathering to sell simple things is a red tape joke.
@timetraveller93213 ай бұрын
I thought we the eu, why are we being dogged down with all of this unnecessary red tape and time consuming needless detail, will it a requirement even for a dvd or cd!

Turned it off at the beginning of September. Apart from any lack of clarity from the EU, and nothing from eBay, who were just as much in the dark as the rest of us, I couldn't then and can't now justify the time it would take for 1 or 2 sales a month to the EU. It's a shame, though, for NI, they've been dragged into it through no fault of their own - they're having a nightmare! I do understand why the boffs thought it necessary because of the deluge of Chinese tat and fakery flooding into Europe. The H&S aspect was, and still is, pretty scary. I can see GB and other non EU countries following suit in the future. Maybe not in the same guise, but something similar.
@Married2Reselling3 ай бұрын
Yeah… we watched ‘The Truth about Temu’ - scary as hell what’s going on… would never buy from or promote a company like that.

Thia ain't exactly Ebay's fault. It's implemented by the EU. I do think Ebay could be clearer on the issue though. We'll probably switch off the EU too, it's not worth the effort. We sell far more to the rest of the world anyway.
@Married2Reselling3 ай бұрын
Definitely not ebays fault, but it’s up to ebay to decide how they handle the requirements on their platform. It’s not clear to me how to do that, hence my decision on option 3 (for now).
