Ebay Hub Bearing Press Kit tool (Don’t BUY!!) #tools #cars

Do not buy that bearing tool kit off of eBay or Amazon. The rod stripped out causing me to take the spindle to a shop to get the bearing installed!

I suspect you never lubed the bolt threads AND the washers that need to be installed. Also it's possible you used the wrong size back plate to pull the bearing out & weren't properly set for removal. Also it's advisable to use a breaker bar until the bearing is broken loose then the impact wrench can complete the job. Just buy a new bolt to use in the future. Make sure it is grade 8 with full threads or plan on using spacers to allow the less threads, then LUBRICATE as mentioned above.

I've heard the instructions on the press kit say to never use an impact wrench. And as the guy above said , lube the threaded rod.

Hi, I have this press and it’s great tool, it pulls the bearing out and installs it with no problem, I greased the forcing well and I pulled the rotor off first before I pulled the hub off, I used a too jaw puller to pull the hub off and came right off, I shouldn’t have to say I pulled the axle nut off first,

This was user error all the way he never really knew what he was doing from the moment he was trying to slide hammer with the rotor lock still on 🤦🏾‍♂️

Nooo the little screw stripped out so I tried to pull the hub anyways…the tool did strip regardless.

You can't pity pat with the slide hammer.. You have to throw it like you're trying to break the tool.. and then it works

Then you hitting the cv shaft with hammer😮😮😮 you leave the nut on a little flush and then strike it, unless of course you are planning to replace it.

USE WD40 first. Dry removal will not work.

Set up is definitely wrong I've used them on many and there fine I just use a bit of engine oil 🇬🇧

Lol.. The rod didn't strip. I can literally see the impact moving your wrench up in the air. You have to HOLD IT. If your impact is moving the wrench, you're not unscrewing anything; next time, let the wrench spin until it ruins into something and holds itself solid. .. Also, that impact is too weak. You would have needed to wrench on it yourself with a ratchet.. Just get a 3 or 4 ft cheater bar and it will definitely comply... If those threads were really stripped, you would have shown it to the camera.

It comes out through the front. Removed with hammer and pressed in at shop.. Your thinking when you unbolt from rear. I think I should have oiled it or something…

Sometimes, you get bunk bolts that come in the set. That's why I used a harbor freight set. 90-day return and right down the street. lol if you don't like it, return it for one that works

Bearing needs to be installed with a hydraulic press no way in hell will this put the bearing in straight I ruined two bearings because of this tool
