Yeah it was purely a cost decision to use truck style ps pump. I haven't really seen information on the Type 2 ps pump being able to turn more rpm, but I'm curious. Less aeration? Less power draw?

Are you sure this router will work? The factory routing goes from the tensioner under the pulley around alternator down to power steering pump But wraps around the water pump Unlike your Set up which touches the bottom only if that makes sense? The stock configuration uses 93" belt. If I attempt to route The factory way it will require a larger belt. When I routed it your way I came up with 79" like you minus 5/8"'s As suggested in another measuring video To account for the tension So at this point, I am to order 78.3" belt or If I attempt to route the factory way I'm sure that it will work would require a larger than 93" Any comments are appreciated thank you for your video just want to make sure

Is the concern about belt wrap? That would be my only concern around the damper. Power steering has the most draw I would think. Other kits from ICT Billet is the same routing

@@EssMotorsports just said it was routed differently and have seen it on KZbin on just a couple of occasions but haven't seen anybody run it. We are all still in Fab up mode. After I check the ICT website they have the suggested routing and it made me feel a little more comfortable thanks for the good info

Do these brakets bring the alternator down or closer to the engine? we are doing a ls swap on a 1970 el camino and the hood doesnt close due to the alternator being too high

Thanks! It's just an ls1 tensioner, dayco. But I actually just swapped out the pulley for a high edge pulley so I don't have belts flying off.

@mrc1018 the new pulley I just swapped on the ls1 dayco tensioner is 12703922 Diameter is the same but higher lip to keep belt on

I see, we purchased the same kit and I have the tensioner with the three bolts mount and instead of replacing the whole part for a two bolt I am going to cut that bracket off and reuse what I have.

@mrc1018 I believe the truck tensioner spacing is wrong. That is why the ls1 style tensioner is needed.

@montemoe the ps pump was just the factory pump from original 85 Trans Am sbc. I used the pulley from the 6.0 engine

Yeah it should. It's truck spacing, my ls1 water pump is spaced out to work with the truck damper
