I so wish that I lived closer to you. I'm in New Jersey and our good will never has anyting. You are Goodwill's always look like they're packed. I'm trying to start a business and it's so hard when you go to a Goodwill and they really don't have anything. I'm a senior citizen and I'm low income so I'm trying to increase my income. And you guys are so good at this!!! I so enjoy watching your videos. You're just such a sweet person. Have a fantastic day even though it's pouring down rain and now it's thundering. Much love to you both. 🌹🤗❣️

Goodwill can take a flying leap. They're so greedy, between holding the best items back to sell online and raising prices when, as I always say, they get their inventory FOR FREE. I haven't shopped in a Goodwill since the end of last year, because luckily the other stores here are better (though everyone seems to be jacking prices right now, thank goodness for the honey hole antique stores). I don't even donate to them anymore, I donate to local stores. Rant over! Congrats to you both on that great find/sale, and even more congrats on getting hitched!

Fun video. I love the clear isle. So overlooked. I too have been known to save a nice pot with a chip or two in my day. Ceramic/pottery pots are darned expensive new, but if I am using them to put a plant in I don't mind. They still look much nicer grouped in the garden, over plastic pots any day and the plant covers up the chip anyway.

Not many people are taken with clear glass. I, on the other hand, love it more than anything else, especially if it’s shines and sparkles. I don’t have young children so I have a couple of odd crystal glasses in my bathroom plus crystal and gleaming glass votive holders. They are so beautiful when the lamp is on or when the sun is shining through the window.

I have found that many of our Goodwills are overpriced, I’ve cut way down on shopping there. I would rather go to one of the two bins in my area and get 3 or 4 times the items for the price of 1. I find that I do well with estate sale items, as well as habit for humanity. That hero scape is a real bolo, I’ve never heard of it. Love how you and Roger are such a great support for each other, each with your own style of items.

Karen hello , I just love watching you . I am so glad I stumbled up on you’re channel . I have went back and watched all youre past videos and can’t wait every week to watch youre next video . Since watching you I’ve decided to start doing it myself . And now it’s just learning what to pick up and to price the item . I want to it full time I think I would enjoy it . I’m just now trying to get my husband on board . We both work our own hours having a business of our own . So that gives us a lot of free time to do what ever we want . I could go thrifting every day but not got him to that point . When we married 20 yrs ago he had never even been to a yard sale have been working on him all these yrs . I have finally got him where he realizes yard sales and all the other places to thrift from . I have got him into it some if he would be 100 % that would be fantastic. But until then I’ll take him wanting to part time . I have learned so much from you in just the past few months from you and a few other resellers here . And I’m so so excited for you and Roger you can really see you’re love for each other . I smile everytime I see y’all together. Thanks for sharing you’re sweet journey of Roger and you . Can’t wait to see you’re new bedroom I know it’s going to be Gorgeous! I am from Arkansas and man how I wish we had all the thrifting places y’all do there or maybe there are some around I’ve just not found them . I’m keeping my eyes open for any thrifting place I can find . Thank you so much for you’re continuous videos and sharing all you know . Congratulations to you and Roger be blessed Melissa from Arkansas .

I have the same pressed glass biscuit jar/cookie jar. In approximately 1992, it came from the Corning Glass/Corelle Outlet Store at what was then the Outlet Mall in Sarasota FL. I assume it was sold at all their stores. It sold for $10.00 and they sold them by the hundreds. I hope this information is helpful.

I'm a bit out of it, but Shannon, Ireland used to be known as a location in Ireland that made some of the best crystal. When I sold crystal in the 1980's, 24% lead was the standard by which quality crystal was measured. The lead makes the crystal more sparkly. Sometime in the late 80s a law was passed in the U.S. that the lead percentage had to be reduced due to potential lead poisoning. Lead poisoning isn't really a problem unless a person stores food or liquid in the 24% lead crystal for an extended period of time.

I would be REALLY interested in learning what percentage of goods Greedwell takes in as donations and what percentage is actually SOLD as opposed to what percentage is DUMPED into the landfill. I'm pretty sure they don't have any type of comprehensive Inventory Management System that would reveal that, but I'm certain that they discard a much, much higher percentage of goods than they sell... OF COUURSE, they don't sweat THAT because everything comes to them completely FREE of CHARGE... what a deal! (I find it morally reprehensible considering how they operate, but who wouldn't want a businees model just like it?!? 😏) I'd love to see Greedwell de-escalate their prices across the board with an eye toward SELLING MORE and DISCARDING LESS. Would love to see them initiate something like a "Throwback Thursday" each week where all clothing prices roll back to pre-inflation levels. I will bet that they'll sell tons more items on THAT day than they did the day before or will the day after... just a little experiment whose time has come!
@cheryldavis8776 Жыл бұрын
@Lannie Lord I don't think Greedwell realizes how they could really clean out their inventory the way you suggest... Think how much better it would be if they could score $100 on clothes that would more than likely end up trashed! Maybe they just don't get the idea of volume...?

The problem with the higher pricing is EVERYTHING had gone up. Personally, I can always find clothes for a decent price but not as quickly as I use to.
