You should look in to eberlestocks vaporpacks, they attatch with a zipper on to the frame and your problems are gone. I have the batwings and a zip in panel betwene works well for the most.

Very nice pack, frame looks high quality! The big orange blanket could be replaced with a little mylar if it is just for shock/hypothermia.

Hill People Gear is the right solution. I've been using their Decker Pack Frame system for a year. Use the pocket or packbag and the Aston House Panel and you'll get what you wished with the Eberlestock.

Yea, I rigged up something with my HPG gear. Ute and Aston Pocket with a Rifle Pocket on the bottom.

Did you take the plastic ‘frame’ out of the Kite when you attached to the F1?

I do not believe so, just took the hip and shoulder straps per Eberlestock.
