My controller's headlight output is rated for a mere 5w and I was wondering why my 2x 36w lights weren't working.

So, i have bought two headlights for my ebike. It's a gravel bike with a Bafang 1000w motor and 52v battery. It has a wire left over that is supposed to be for lights so I ordered the 2 pin headlights and they will not come on. I thought the first light was broke so I got another and it doesn't work either. Then, I hooked up one of those little bugeyes from an emergency exit sign and it came on. You think perhaps my controller isn't strong enough to run that little headlight? It's the 2 pin headlight on Amazon, black with a little reflector.

Hey Brad, say if you hooked it up directly and the light flashed and went off... how could you troubleshoot?

Test with a digital volt meter. You might have drawn to much power and killed the relay in your ebike controller. This relay eliminates that issue
