Costco ebike review and test. This is my first ebike and I was excited to share with you my thoughts on this ebike. Its compact, light, foldable small ebike that delivers a lot of fun for your $$$$$. I tested it and got 12 miles out of it with my weight. With 350W motor, 36Volt lithium ion battery, 15mph this is awesome little ebike.

The Jetson BP also has cruise control! When you crank the throttle to the speed you want it, push the button under the lights that show the power level quickly, and it will lock into cruise control, and then you don’t have to twist the throttle anymore, and you can disengage the throttle when you break or if you crank the throttle again! Also, always read your manual or manuals, if you press and hold the button under the battery power, indicator lights, for four or five seconds, it will turn the front headlight on, then if you press it for four or five seconds again, it will turn the headlight off! Read your manual!

One last tip I want to give you here, and it’s a fantastic one! There are hundreds of KZbin videos on this little ebike, and everything you could possibly want to know about how to repair it, or add modifications to it, or a new battery for extended mileage, there are videos on everything! Changing/repairing a flat tire, putting on a new throttle, putting new tires on the bike, replacing your brakes, etc. etc.! Also, listed under each KZbin video persons videos, are all the links to get the modifications/parts, and accessories etc., etc.! Myself, I have done over 200+ hours of research on this ebike! I, have watched all of the videos! And I’ve added over $600 of add-ons, to my Jetson BP! I, love this little ebike, as do many thousands of others! This, is most likely, the most popular selling ebike in the world! One guy has done over 200 KZbin videos on Jetsons! It took me 1.5 years to get mine! Due to Covid and all of the shipping/shutdown/lockdown, problems! If you want to see some great photography videos and extended trip videos, be sure to check out the soup Nazi‘s videos on KZbin this guy lives in BC and he rides his jets and everywhere! This guy makes excellent videos of trips!

As a Jetson Pro owner, I raced USCF for 35+ years NORBA for 30+ years so I know bikes. At 72yo without a car the Jetson Pro was the cheapest e-bike with pedals.

I myself am 5 foot eight and I weigh over 250 pounds, and I ride mine all over the place! The bike has a weight capacity maximum of 265 pounds! And the bike is very comfortable at my height and weight! Plus if you run out of juice you can always pedal it! You can also put front forks on this thing you can also put a six gear sprocket on the back of the bike tire! Check out Jetson BP products in the US they sell everything for parts when it comes to these Jetsons! They totally specialize in everything for Jetson BP ebikes!

One last common for now, I’ve also seen guys that ride around on $10,000 Pro’s and ebikes, who love this little E bike as well, and have one or two of them kick it around themselves! People don’t always want to ride the large expensive bike! This thing is so easy to move around carry around put in your car trunk carry up and downstairs etc. that that in and of it’s self makes it super convenient, considering the weight capacity that it can hold! These are very well-made seriously an expensive little E bikes! And there are many many add-ons mods and accessories that you can do this thing to make it Even better! That’s all for now have a nice evening!

If you want more speed you have to change the speed controller. The stock one is a EU standard set to 25 kph max (15.5 mph). A chinese speed controller with programmability or with (offroad) feature will get you moving. Mine has a green set of wires that keep to 20 mph +/- connected and wfo disconnected. But, if you overvolt it to 48v with a new controller it's even faster!! It's also a good opportunity to install a throttle with a key switch.

Believe it or not, the vast majority of people that ride Jetsons are between 30 and 80 years of age! People take them when they go RV camping! And people use them just because they want to save money on gas! Also I’ve watched all of the KZbin videos, there are guys that are 6 foot four and 280 pounds that ride these! The vast majority of people that ride these are my age I’m 62 years old and I weigh over 250 pounds and I love this little Ebike, for doing all my errands around town! In Winnipeg Manitoba Canada! I’ve seen KZbin videos, where an entire family of five, gets them and they go riding together for family evenings! Five of these, is cheaper than one medium priced, full size adult electric ebike! In Canada here the average ebike is $3000 for a decent one! You can buy five Jetsons for that price! I’ve also seen KZbin videos of guys that have boosted the speed on these things to 30 mph! The top speed you can achieve with the 36 V motor is 18 to 19 mph! Would you can easily booster self by just purchasing an add-on!

22:40 Riders unfamiliar with riding motorcycles generally like thumb throttles because throttle grips send them into uncontrolled acceleration when the bike moves forward and they hang on by the throttle and will tend to pull back on the top of the grip, increasing acceleration and throwing them back even more. It was obvious who never rode motorcycles at the Can Am demo days, when they shoot forward with unintended acceleration 😉 Opposable thumbs make it easier to grip the handle bar grip properly, and if the thumb is needed to push a throttle, that leaves you with just a palm grip, not the best thing. With a throttle grip, place a finger or two on the brake lever, which allows you to have fine control of the throttle because you'll have positional feedback of the grip. Holding only the throttle grip with your full hand will result in poor control if you start jouncing around on bumpy roads and acceleration.

in keeping with that principle, if you rotate the bell striker to the front, it allows you to maintain your grip on the handlebar so you can just use your index finger to ding the bell. Then it's easier to happily make like an ice cream truck while riding 🙃

Pls do not touch disk brake disks. It is not likely, but skin oils can contaminate brake pads. Also, when installing a seat post, lube it, especially if dissimilar metals. Ideally, use a gritty carbon fiber assembly grease. If you ride any e-bike mostly by throttle you will first burn out a couple throttles, then eventually the controller. They are not well made because they are meant to help you get started or if you get into trouble, like on a hill. E-bikes are not unlicensed mopeds. They make traditional cycling easier, more convenient and accessible. Brakes will not squeak, last longer and stop better if you center the calipers. Loosen all the mounting bolts. Tie back the brake handle, then tighten the bolts. The calipers will be centered! Adjust the inside pad first for best braking, then the cable. You can extend the useful life of the bike's battery by not constantly charging it to max. Get a simple light timer and recharge the same amount of time that you rode. You'll be right around 90% (fully charge to balance batteries quarterly). I believe the manual warns about not storing the bike below freezing and storing when not used for two weeks or more, with no more than about 80% charge. Check at least monthly if storing for the winter.

what would cause the throttle control to burn out? for sure it's not carrying any of the motor drive current, so what would burn out? are you saying it may be wearing out because it's being opened and closed too much? if it's a simple resistive potentiometer that's poorly made, that might be a wear item, but I'd be surprised if that's the case. One thing to check is the chain tension, on my bike, it came in with the chain too tight, which accelerates wear and causes increased friction. Find the tightest part in the rotation, and adjust the tension for at least a half inch of play at the middle when pushed up and down.
