Thank you for this video. I have been looking at the Aventon Level 2 and Pace 500.3 as well as NCM T7S only because they have brick and mortar stores to service the bike near us. I must admit your review is really making me consider putting the Velotric Discover 2 in 1st place, my only concern is finding somewhere to service if/when required.

As someone who owns a nomad 1, discover 1 and a level 2, I can honestly say the aventon is way overhyped. The only thing g it has going for it over velotric discover 1 is the torque sensor. I strongly recommend getting a discover 2 over a level. Aventon is overhyped

Also take a look at the Mokwheel Asphalt ST. I test drove it with the Aventon Level 2 and preferred the Mokwheel. It is $1,500. A steal imo.

Best startup video out of a dozen. 5 stars from me. Only complaint...sick and tired of watching battery dunks. Got an order in for a D2 and kinda disappointed in slow delivery. All geeked up ready to rock and just sitting around watching summer days tick by.

@@EbikeEscape I live in Orange Park and I was going to ask you, where in North Florida were you riding? The St. Augustine to Palatka trail if pretty good, a little less shade than I prefer. The Palatka to Lake Butler Rails to Trails is one of my favorite bike trails. I'm a new subscriber, "Hello and how's it going"? I need to find an affordable eBike Carrier for my niece, I just gifted her a used Pedego Comfort Cruiser as a "learning" bike. Can you recommend a budget friendly but well made Carrier? I have a Thule T2 or something like that, heavy, no ramps, no fold-up, no built in license tag holder or lights. Thank you...!

I'd love if they made these controls and display compatible with existing models as an upgrade. The old five-way switch isn't a great eyes off mode switching control

As always another great e-bike review. How loud is the motor whine on this bike? One of my pet peeves is e-bike motor whine. Also looking at the VanPowers UrbanGlide Pro and that one is nearly silent. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

My area has a lot inclines at tunnels and bridges. 20 - 30 ft elevation changes with ramps 100 - 200 ft. long. The ramp entrances have sharp turns, so I can't build up much speed on approach. I'd need to maintain 20 - 25 mph to keep up with traffic. How do you think the Discover 2 would handle it? Throttle only and also with me cranking? I've seen cadence sensor bikes zipping up those ramps. Just curious thow a torque sensor setup would perform, as I understand that it requires more effort from the rider. Thanks! Appreciate the review.

Just throttle up the hills, it'll handle. It just fine

I’ve had my Blix Aveny for almost a year now but I’m very much ready to upgrade for more power, speed, and range. Just when I thought I had my options narrowed down between Aventon Pace 500.3 (lighter weight and similar to my Blix) and the new Radster Road (750w motor) then I watched your video on the Discover 2. Now I feel like I’m back to square one. This might be a silly question but are there any other option to make the cables more cleaned up. Everything about this bike looks amazing except the mess of wires!

Can you do an updated video with the firmware update showing the difference in the feel of the cadence sensor vs the torque sensor. New update allows user to choose between them on the app while connected to the bike. Pretty sweet that it allows over the air updating via app. Keeps this bike refreshed and work out any potential bugs spotted.

Is there a way to secure the bike if course in combination with an actual lock? Like on my Lectric you need the key to start, and the Lectric xpress you can power down the battery and lock it up so no one can turn it on without the keys to unlock the battery to turn the battery on. I was wondering if the discover 2 has some type of locking feature, as I understand the key is just to simply remove the battery.

This is a great bike which I am considering. I am also trying to compare it to the step thru Ride1up Lmtd v2. Ryan, your reviews are so thorough, Is there any major definitive difference that would help me decide. The price difference is non consequential. It appears that the LMTD is lighter, which is important for my bike rack maximum payload. Both bikes have the capabilities that I would prefer. I do wonder about the complexities of actively using 15 iterations of pas.
@edsonmoreno74228 ай бұрын
I was in this exact place yesterday. I ended up going with the discover 2 as it seems a bit more future proof overall, but the weight is definitely something to consider for the bike rack, but I would remove the battery to lower the weight on the bike rack. For me, the main driving factor was having slightly longer range and being ipx7 rated as I plan on using it for daily commuting and we get lots of rain where I am from. I think it’s over kill, but definitely gives me peace of mind. The app is also much more intuitive and allows for easy customization of each assist iteration so that you only cycle through the ones actually needed and not all 15. Both the LMT’d v2 and Discover 2 are excellent overall packages though, so good luck!

Also, I think the velotric is significantly louder than the LMTDV2. I have the V2, it is near silent. @@edsonmoreno7422

Beautiful bike! I have a Radpower City 5 plus....I was considering getting a Radpower Radster Road...how would this Velotric compare? I'm in Canada. Is this a US model only? No local Velotric dealers in Canada...all ebikes are getting heavier and heavier...how can they expect seniors (I'm 58 and healthy) to deal with 70lbs bikes? But I can't deny this one is a beauty. Thanks for the video

You mentioned that boost spacing on front fork might allow slightly wider tires. Will the fenders allow for that also? Do you think I could go from these Kenda 27.5 x 2.4's to Shwalbe Johnny Watts 27.5 x 2.8?

I would consider widening your knees when you ride it may just be the video but your knees look very narrow; if you widen them out a bit you can get better leverage through your ankles on the pedals. No hate just relate, I do the same. I also have ordered myself a Large Mint Discover 2 and am excited for it to arrive Also dont let me tell you how to ride from a single video haha. Just an idea about widening your knees a bit for pedal leverage over the ankles Liked and subscribed! I appreciate you!

Sounds like a terrific bike if one doesn't mind the weight but it is too heavy for this 75 yr old.! I agree that it sounds overly complex all the riding modes. I'd love to see some of these features show up as an upgrade to the T1 ST; namely, the richly featured rear tail light, the adjustable stem, the controller and screen with all those options,. If all that added 3 bs the T1 would still be a nice manageable 39 lbs A bit more battery would be nice but not essential. Please tell us that Velotric has that in the works for the T1 ST!

Couple notes here. Some of the features listed here aren't standard equipment when ordering ie: the phone holder is a paid option. Same with the pricey basket. Mirror etc. So the bike featured here won't be $1699.

I was thinking the same thing, but when I see how much comes with this bike, and all the ratings above safety ratings, water resistance ratings, as well as the ability to update the firmware to allow for adjustments and feature enhancements. Velotric just released an update which brought a new feature, cadence/torque swap where you can choose what type of sensor you want, it’s like having two bikes in one. I have reconsidered this bike after I test drove it at my local ebike store. So worth the money. I’m picking one up in a couple of weeks.
