I’ve never understood how the I-IV-V really worked. Seeing you count through it on your fingers and walking through the alphabet cleared everything up for me. It was like the light just came on! Not only do I know the song now, I’m understanding theory now. What a TWO for ONE!!! Thanks!

Can you please help me on the dang strumming pattern? I’ve watched this video about a thousand times and I just can’t get this simple looking strumming. So far your strumming is the closest to the original. Please make us a video ?

This is so funny cuz I came across this video tonight and I had the same reaction> I was like O-M-G. he walked through the alphabet, and I was following along in my head, and I was like THAT's what I-IV-V is all about?? Sheesh. It was a light bulb moment for me too :-)

i put that record on Girl you know what song And I let it play again and again You're in every line Takes me back in time Yeah tonight I'm wondering What are you listening to Is it a cover band in some college town bar Where it's na-na-na's and air guitars Or is it something to get you through Just a sad song playing on the radio station Tears still fall and hearts still breakin' Cause you're hanging on Or is it a love song about someone new What are you listening to? I like to believe That you're just like me Trying to figure out how a good thing goes bad I don't know I can't let it go Yeah it's about to drive me mad What are you listening to Is it a cover band in some college town bar Where it's na-na-na's and air guitars And is it something to get you through…

Your strum pattern differs from Chris Stapletons acoustic versions. Is it because you wanted to make it more simplistic or because its hard to decode his strum pattern in this song? I'm have difficulty reading his strum pattern and finding a lesson that can mimic his pattern.

Could I ask you a favour Mr Branner? Could you do this same thing for Drink You Away by Timberlake? Explaining the strumming pattern along with ornaments as you call them and whatnot. Thank you in advance regardless of your answer.

you know it! i actually got to see that tour on it's final night in las vegas.! let me put it into my queue.. if you don't see it in a week, ratttle my cage... i'm on it!

I envy you. I wish I could see it too but it'd be an expensive flight from Sweden. To be honest Timberlake keeps it pretty simple himself but this guy by the name of Drew Hale did a mean cover of it here on youtube. You might want to check him out. His camera angle and chubby fingers is making it hard for me lol
@oboyy7 жыл бұрын
Mr Branner I'd like to thank you again for this tutorial. It's such a cool song. I've been practising my timing by playing along to acoustic versions of the song. It seems Chris has different finger placement for a few different chords. Maybe different colors but it sounds just about the same. I also started checking out your blackforrest video series and it proved really helpful in explaining musical theory to a newbie like myself. When the video series came to an abrupt end I thought what the heck I'll try the ebook and I've found it amazing. Your way of teaching just clicks. It offers so much value. I feel like I am taking something from you. Do you still have hard copies and could I get one to Sweden? If I buy one I will at least feel like I have offered something back. Thanks again!
